13. Towers of Midnight - Chapter 46 - Working Leather - Chapter Summary

The Black Tower is split into two factions: those loyal to Logain and those loyal to Taim. Logain is still away on a scouting mission along with the three most powerful Dedicated who are loyal to him. Taim seems to be encouraging chaos in the Tower, and has been spreading rumors against Rand. Those loyal to Logain are being ostracized and bullied. More and more men have gone over to Taim, many of them growing strong unusually quickly. Taim encourages his men to find any excuse to channel and hold the Power. Taim has forbidden the Aes Sedai from bonding any of his allies.

Androl, the weakest of the Dedicated, was only raised to that level by Logain, against Taim's wishes. Androl sees shadows stretching toward him if he holds the Power for too long. Emarin, a former nobleman loyal to Logain, asks Androl to suggest sending Logain a message. Emarin notices that there seems to be more to Androl than he lets on. Androl agrees to seek evidence that Taim is up to no good and find a way to notify Logain or Rand.
