Rand emerges from the darkness minutes after he entered, and resumes the fight with Moridin. Moridin throws a dagger at Alanna that hits her heart, but she is able to release the bond before she dies.

Moridin stabs his own hand, and Rand reacts as if his own hand was stabbed, and he drops Callandor.

Perrin follows Luhhan's advice and fights Slayer without restraint. Slayer flees, and they move rapidly between the waking world and the dream. Perrin catches up with Slayer, and in the dream world, Young Bull crushes Slayer's throat, and at the same time in the waking world, Perrin crushes Slayer's head with Mah'alleinir.

Maidens tell Perrin that Darlin's command tent fell, and nobody is in charge. He takes them to the path between the Pit and the Darkhounds. The Horn summons the spirits of fallen wolves: the Last Hunt.

Mat meets Perrin and tells him that Faile helped draw the enemy away so Olver could sound the Horn. Mat warns Perrin of Fain and the mist, but the mist stabs through Mat's chest.
