Rand is in a place of nothingness where he can perceive the Pattern. The Dark One attacks him.

Perrin is too weak to heal himself. Lanfear gives up on him for losing to Slayer. He goes to Merrilor in the dream, knowing Faile was going there, then collapses and gives up.

Setalle suspects that Berisha may have sent them to the Blight intentionally, which leads Faile to suspect that there is a Darkfriend among them. They debate whether to wait in case someone realizes where they were sent, or go south to escape the Blight, or go north to Shayol Ghul.

Aviendha leads a circle to fight red veils. As she is scouting ahead, the circle vanishes. She returns to find that Hessalam has killed Sarene's Warder and turned Sarene into her thrall. Hessalam vanishes with Sarene, without using a gateway.
