13. Towers of Midnight - Chapter 3 - The Amyrlin's Anger - Chapter Summary

In dreams, Egwene sees a vision of thirteen black towers falling, until only six remain.

She sees a vision of baby eagles flying to the sky looking for their mother, then one of them becomes a serpent and eats the others, who do nothing to stop it.

She sees a vision of a hill with twenty-three huge stars shining on it, where a cracked crystal sphere sits, held together with ropes. Rand chops all the ropes with an axe and shakes his head as the crystal comes apart.

Egwene knows that the eagle dream is about Mesaana, who is still among them in the Tower. The dream of the towers implies to her that the Tower will fall if she doesn't find Mesaana.

Rand arrives at the tower. Tiana gives him a letter that he does not open.

Rand will go to Shayol Ghul in a month and asks for every sister in the Tower to help him, needing both saidar and saidin to succeed.

Rand says that he must break the seals, but Egwene says that he mustn't. Rand asks her to meet him in a place north of the Tower to discuss it further.
