13. Towers of Midnight - Chapter 23 - Foxheads - Chapter Summary

Elayne has made a copy of the foxhead medallion, but it can't deflect powerful weaves, and she can't channel when touching it.

Sensing that Birgitte is away, Elayne disguises herself and goes to Chesmal's cell. Chesmal thinks that Elayne is the Dark One and speaks of the plan to hunt Mat and invade Caemlyn.

Two Black sisters and Sylvase's secretary burst in. After Elayne fights them, Doilin Mellar stabs her and takes the medallion. He orders Chesmal to Heal Elayne. After, Elayne manages to kill Chesmal. Mellar kills Eldrith and Temaile and runs off.

Elayne still has the original foxhead medallion, but Mellar has the copy. Birgitte and Mat arrive. Elayne asks to be taken to her rooms and have the midwife check her.
