Bryne kills a Seanchan assassin who was about to kill Siuan. Remembering Min's viewing that Siuan needs to be close to Bryne to save them both, Siuan finds that the assassin put a poisoned needle in Bryne's arm. She removes it and Heals him.

Egwene thinks of the work to be done to establish herself as Amyrlin. She is too exhausted to speak her protests when Gawyn, Bryne, and Siuan take her to the rebel camp by gateway.

Elaida has been leashed and is on the back of a flying to'raken with her sul'dam.
