World 6-7

A guide to completing World 6-7 in Super Mario Bros 3 for the Nintendo Entertainment System.

How to Clear World 6-7

If you get all the coins in this world (78 in total), a White Mushroom House will appear on the World Map, where you will get an Anchor.

This world will automatically scroll from right to left.

Stand on the rightmost Donut Lift to fall through the three coins (one of them is below the screen). You can optionally hit the ? Block to get a Super Mushroom or Super Leaf. If you're currently small, and want to get all the coins in this level, you have to get the Super Mushroom here, or you won't be able to get all the coins in the level.

Jump on top of the ? Block and go to the right to stand on the Donut Lift. Then get on the row of four Donut Lifts and stand on the last two lifts in the row to fall through six coins, and quickly jump onto the Ice Blocks on the right. Beware of the Fire Chomp that is flying around here.

Stand on the next Donut Lift to fall through three coins, then jump up and get the three coins above the Ice Blocks.

Get on the next set of Donut Lifts and stand on the last one to fall through three coins, then hit the ? Block to get one coin. Then stand on the last Donut Lift below that ? Block to get another three coins.

Jump onto the next set of Donut Lifts and get the three coins above them. Then hit the brick to get one coin.

Stand on the Donut Lift above the four coins to fall through them, then hit the ? Block to get a Fire Flower. You need the Fire Flower to get all the coins in this level.

Jump on top of the second set of bricks, then jump onto the Donut Lifts after that, and stand on the rightmost Donut Lift, but stand to the left of the center of that lift, then jump straight up to make a 1UP Mushroom fall from above. Keep standing on the rightmost Donut Lift, and fall with it. If you stood in the correct position, the 1UP Mushroom will go to the right instead of the left, so you can get it as you continue to the right.

After your Donut Lift falls below, jump onto the Donut Lifts on the right. This set of coins is difficult to get. One way to do it is to stand on the Donut Lift to fall through the four coins, then jump up and through the three coins above that.

Then quickly jump up to the next Donut Lifts and fall through the three coins before they go off screen. Jump onto the grassy area, but stomp on the Fire Chomp before you get the four coins here.

Then jump up the Donut Lifts, and stand on the Donut Lift in the ice platform, and jump from there to the Note Blocks, and jump from there to the pipe. Go down the pipe.

You will land on some Frozen Coins. The only way to unfreeze them is to hit them with fireballs, so if you aren't Fire Mario, you can't get all the coins in this level, so you can't make the White Mushroom House appear.

If you are Fire Mario, hit the Frozen Coins with fireballs, but be careful not to get hit by the Paratroopa as you open up the frozen room. Try to shoot the Paratroopa with a fireball to get rid of it.

There is a hidden brick to the left of the Frozen Coins, so be sure to jump up and hit it to get a coin.

After that, go to the right and hit the Goal Block to complete the level.

After the Level

If you got all the coins in this level, a White Mushroom House will appear on the map. Go into it to get an Anchor, which will stop airships from moving around the map if you lose a life there.

Next, enter the second fortress of World 6.
