A guide to completing World 6-2 in Super Mario Bros 3 for the Nintendo Entertainment System.

How to Clear World 6-2

This level automatically moves toward the left, so you have to keep moving to the right. Be careful not to pushed off the edge of a ledge or crushed between a wall and the edge of the screen.

Clouds will float from right to left at different speeds. You have to jump on them to get through the level. Make a running jump to the second cloud, and get the three coins on the ice blocks, but be careful not to slide off.

Jump on the cloud after that, then try to jump onto the ice platform below, and if you're quick, you can pick up the ice brick (hold the Run button while touching the ice brick) and kick it at the ? Block to get a Super Mushroom or Super Leaf.

Then jump onto the wooden block platform and jump up the clouds to get over the brick column.

Get the coins above the Red Koopa Troopa's platform, and the coins above the brick column. Then try to land on the cloud that is going beneath the three coins to collect them. Carefully jump back up through the narrow gap.

Jump over the brick column and get the three coins after it, then walk across the two wooden platforms, and when a cloud appears, jump onto it. The screen will start scrolling upward. Jump up the clouds as soon as you can, so you can get past the top of the wooden column. Jump onto the ice platform after the tall wooden column.

Get on the wooden platform and try to quickly pick up and kick the two ice bricks. Then repeatedly hit the normal brick that the ice bricks were under, to get multiple coins.

Jump onto the wooden platform with the Red Koopa Troopa on it, then jump onto the clouds, then onto the ice platform after that. There are three coins, but don't get them until you can see the wooden platform beneath them.

As you go past, you see a brick just after a tall wooden column. It contains a 1UP Mushroom, and you can reach it if you jump onto the next cloud as soon as you can, then jump up onto the higher cloud, then jump up to where you saw the brick, and hit it. You can try to wait for the mushroom to fall to where you can see it, or just jump down to the next wooden platform and try to catch it when it falls.

Jump to the next wooden platform, jump on the cloud, then go down the pipe. It leads to the end of the level. Go to the right and hit the Goal Block to complete the level.

After the Level

You can optionally go to the Toad House, where you have a chance of getting a Super Mushroom, Fire Flower, or Super Leaf.

If you can reach the Hammer Brother, you can fight them (two Hammer Bros) to get a hammer. Don't use the hammer on the rock near the Toad House. The pipe on the other side of the rock will just take you to the pipe near the start of this world.

You can then go to either World 6-3 if you haven't yet, or World 6's first fortress.
