A guide to completing the World 2 Pyramid in Super Mario Bros 3 for the Nintendo Entertainment System.

How to Clear the World 2 Pyramid

Jump up the stones of the pyramid, walk past the orange block, then stand in front of the door and press Up to enter.

Go to the right and up the stairs, but beware of the Buzzy Beetle that comes from the right. You can get a Super Mushroom or Super Leaf from the ? block.

To the right, there is a slope with three possible paths to take, but you should just take the middle path. The other two are dead ends. If you're not Raccoon Mario, you will need to stomp a Buzzy Beetle and kick its shell at the bricks, then run and crouch to get past them if you're tall. If you are Raccoon Mario, you can just hit the bricks with your tail.

Beyond the wall, there is a pipe with a Piranha Plant. Jump on the pipe when the Plant is hiding, then take the upper-left path (the other is a dead end). From there, take the upper-right path. As before, you can hit the bricks with your tail if you're Raccoon Mario, or kick a Buzzy Beetle shell at the bricks to get rid of them, then run and crouch to get past them if you're tall.

There are some wooden blocks above you, and it leads to a hidden area. Stand two squares to the right of the wooden blocks, then jump up to reveal a hidden block. Jump on it to reach the pipe in the wooden blocks, then jump and press Up to go up the pipe.

First, jump and hit a brick to reach the first level of bricks, then jump and hit a brick to reach the second level. Go one square to the right of the middle and jump up to hit a hidden block and get a 1UP Mushroom. Get all the coins, then without breaking any bricks, go back down to the bottom of this area, then run and crouch under the low brick at the bottom left (or just run under it and hit it if you're small). Jump (while crouching if you're tall) to step on the P Switch, then collect as many coins as you can before the P Switch wears off. Then go back down the pipe.

Go to the right, up the slope. Beware of a couple of Buzzy Beetles on the ceiling. They will fall and spin toward you. Break the bricks on the right (use your tail if you're Raccoon Mario, or kick a shell at it if you're not), then get past the Piranha Plant in the pipe on the right.

Go to the right and go up the pipe to reach the end of the level. Stomp or ignore the Boomerang Bro, then go to the right and hit the Goal Block to complete the level.

Then you can visit castle, where the king has been transformed into a spider (or a Hoopster in some versions of the game), and Toad asks you to help. You'll automatically enter the World 2 Airship.
