A guide to completing World 2-2 in Super Mario Bros 3 for the Nintendo Entertainment System.

How to Clear World 2-2

If you get 30 coins in this world, a White Mushroom House will appear on the World Map, where you will get an Anchor. You can use the Anchor to stop an airship from moving if you lose a life while trying to complete the airship.

Go to the right and up the slope. At the top, you can slide down the slope to get rid of the Goomba, but try not to fall into the quicksand with the Green Venus Fire Trap. If you get stuck in quicksand, jump rapidly to get back out.

After the quicksand, go up the slope and bump into the wooden block to get a Super Mushroom or Super Leaf. Collect the coins above the gap. After the pipe, there is a slope down to more quicksand and a Red Venus Fire Trap.

Go up the slope after that, and there are two wooden blocks, followed by a wooden platform floating above some water that has Green Cheep-Cheeps in it. Jump onto the wooden platform and it will start to move to the right.

Avoid or stomp the Green Paratroopa and collect the three coins, then if you're tall, crouch so you can jump and hit the two bricks. The first brick contains a coin, and the second contains a P Switch. Quickly step on the P Switch, then run along the first set of bricks and fall back onto the wooden platform. After the final set of coins, make a running jump and try to bounce off of the Green Paratroopa to reach the final group of coins before they turn back into bricks.

Before you move on, go back to where there are some coins to the right of where you got the P Switch. There is a hidden block to the left of the second set of coins. Jump and hit it to get a 1UP Mushroom.

Then go to the right to reach the pipe that leads to the end of the level. Run and hit the Goal Block to complete the level. Then you can move on to the World 2 Fortress.
