How to Clear Vanilla Dome 3

Go to the right and jump onto the Skull Raft. It will automatically start moving to the right. Jump over the Blargg that comes out of the lava, then hit the Prize Block to get a coin. There are also two Flying Prize Blocks. The lower block contains a coin, and the higher block contains a 1-Up Mushroom. However, there is also a Blargg beneath the Flying Prize Blocks, which makes it difficult to hit the blocks. The raft will fall off the edge when it reaches the right side, so you only have a short amount of time to hit the Blocks.

Jump onto the solid ground on the right, and hit the Prize Block to get a Fire Flower. There are two Jumping Piranha Plants in the pipes, and a Buzzy Beetle walks across the pipes from the right.

Slide down the steep slope and get the Dragon Coin, then jump on the Skull Raft and try to hit the Flying Prize Block to get a coin. As you go to the right, you will encounter three Blarggs. Then the raft will fall to a lower level, then it will fall off the edge on the right.

Go up to the pipe on the right and jump straight up to reveal a hidden Prize Block that contains a coin. Jump on it, then go down to the next Prize Block and hit it to get a Cape Feather.

Go to the right, and if you want a 3-Up Mushroom, run from the right edge of the ledge toward the pipe, then start flying, and when you're near the ceiling, start pressing right on the directional pad to glide to the left. You will reach a passage up above that contains a 3-Up Moon at the end.

If you want to go to a 1-Up Chamber and you don't mind not getting all five Dragon Coins, run to the right from the 3-Up Moon until you start flying, and press left on the directional pad to glide, or go back to the area to the right of the two pipes, and run to the right and start flying before the Skull Raft. You will reach a hidden area above the Skull Raft with a curved floor. There are two Buzzy Beetles on the right, followed by a pipe that leads to the 1-Up Chamber. Skip ahead to Vanilla Dome 3, Part 2 on this page.

If you don't want to go to the 1-Up Chamber, go to the right from the two pipes, and get on the Skull Raft. Jump over the Blargg that comes up from the lava, and jump on the Brown Blocks at the end. Get the six coins and the Dragon Coin, then go to the right, past a Buzzy Beetle.

There are pipes hanging down from the ceiling. The first two pipes and the fourth pipe have Piranha Plants in them. After that, get on the Skull Raft, then hop off of it onto the platform above, and make sure not to lose sight of the raft. Run to the right, quickly get rid of the Buzzy Beetle, then quickly hit the Prize Block repeatedly to get as many coins from it as you can before it turns into a Brown Block, but don't let the Skull Raft get away. Get past the Piranha Plant in the pipe, then get back on the Skull Raft.

When the Skull Raft falls off the edge, jump onto the pipe. Go down the pipe to reach an icy cave. To the right, there are two Buzzy Beetles, a pool of water, another Buzzy Beetle and three coins, another pool of water, a Buzzy Beetle and four coins, then a Cheep Cheep in the water, a red Koopa Paratroopa over another Cheep Cheep in the water, and a Dragon Coin above the Paratroopa. At the end, there is a Buzzy Beetle, and a Prize Block that contains a Cape Feather. Go up the pipe.

Vanilla Dome 3, Part 2

Run to the right to step on the Triangular Block and run up the side of the pipe. There is an unshelled Koopa between two pipes, and it kicks the shell, which bounces between the Triangular Blocks there. Carefully stomp on the shell to stop it so you can go through the Midway Gate. Then hit the Prize Block up above to get a Yoshi Egg. Run up the side of the pipe and hop on Yoshi.

Go to the right and get on the Skull Raft. There are two Blarggs on the way, so be sure to jump over them. When you see a floating platform, jump on it and quickly get the Dragon Coin to the right, then land on the Skull Raft while dodging the two Blarggs below. When the Raft falls off the edge, jump off on the right.

This area has several Spike Tops and three pipes. After that, there is a Buzzy Beetle, then several platforms. The first platform has a Buzzy Beetle, the third has a Dragon Coin, and the fourth has a Buzzy Beetle and a Prize Block, which contains a Cape Feather.

Go to the right where there are two Buzzy Beetles, and get rid of the Beetles, then go to the right side.

If you don't have a Cape Feather, just get on the Skull Raft, then jump onto the platform and get past the Piranha Plants, then get back on the Raft, and ride it to the Giant Gate.

If you do have a Cape Feather, stand near the Skull Raft on the right, then run to the left so you can fly straight up, then go to the right, onto the platform with a Muncher on it. Go to the right and jump over the Munchers, and get the fifth Dragon Coin. Then go to the right and hit the P Switch to reveal some Prize Blocks. Walk to the right on these blocks (and you can optionally hit them with your cape to get coins), then go through the Giant Gate to complete the level.

After the Level

The path to the south unlocks, so you can go to Vanilla Dome 4.
