How to clear Funky in Super Mario World for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and Game Boy Advance.

About this Level
How to Clear Funky
This level only has 200 seconds on the timer, but each time Yoshi eats a Green Berry, 20 seconds are added, so be sure to have Yoshi eat the Green Berries whenever you find any.
Above where you start the level, there is a Sumo Brother that will create a lightning bolt when it stomps, which turns into a fire when it hits the ground. You can go to the right to avoid this.
After the gap on the right, there is a Jumping Fire Piranha Plant, followed by a Green Berry. Make sure to have Yoshi eat it. After that, there is a green Koopa Paratroopa, and a Red Berry, as well as a Sumo Brother on a platform. Get past the Sumo Brother's flames and jump over the gap, where there are two blue Koopa Troopas and a Dragon Coin. Yoshi can eat a blue Koopa Troopa to be able to fly, but there is a Green Berry soon.
After the two blue Koopa Troopas, there is a Prize Block in the sky that contains a Yoshi's Egg. If you don't already have Yoshi, but you're Caped Mario, you can first stomp the red Koopa Troopa on the right and throw its shell up at the Prize Block, then go to the right and fly up to get Yoshi. Otherwise, just go to the right.
There is a Sumo Brother on top of a row of Prize Blocks. Each Prize Block just contains a coin.
To the right, there are two Blocks and two blue Koopa Troopas, and a Green Berry. The Block on the left contains a P Switch (don't hit it yet), and the Prize Block on the right contains a Fire Flower.
If you need Yoshi, you can carry the P Switch to the left and activate it, then hit the high-up Prize Block to make the Yoshi egg appear if you didn't already, then Yoshi will fall through the coin because of the P Switch.
To the right, there is a row of Jump Blocks with a Sumo Brother on top of it, and a row of Prize Blocks and regular Blocks beneath that, also with a Sumo Brother on top of it. The Prize Blocks just contain coins, but the rightmost Jump Block contains a Super Star. If you're not tall, and you don't have Yoshi, you will either need to become tall or go back and get Yoshi, since the only way to get past this set of blocks is to either be Caped Mario and fly over it, or have Yoshi eat a blue shell and fly over it, or do a Spin Jump off of Yoshi's back to reach the top row, or be tall and do a Spin Jump to break the Blocks in the middle of the row of Prize Blocks.
The Super Star always comes out of the top of the Jump Block even if you stomp on the Jump Block, so if you fly over, you can still get the Super Star. If you don't fly over but you can Spin Jump the Blocks in the row of Prize Blocks, get the Dragon Coin to the left, then jump back up onto the Prize Block row and hit the rightmost Jump Block beforehand to get a Super Star.
To the right, jump over the gap and there is a Confused Chuck, then a Green Berry, then a Whistling Chuck who just sits there since there aren't any enemies to whistle to. Get the Dragon Coin from above the Whistling Chuck.
Next, there are two platforms of Grab Blocks, so if you're not on Yoshi, make sure not to press X or Y as you walk across them.
After the gap, there are Jump Blocks with a Sumo Brother on top. The Jump Blocks are empty.
To the right, there is a Prize Block above a Block that contains many coins. Hit it as quickly as you can to get as many coins out of it as possible before it turns into a Brown Block.
Then if you still have Yoshi, have him eat the Green Berry to add another 20 seconds to the timer.
After a gap, there is a blue Koopa Troopa, and another gap, followed by a Green Berry and Red Berry, and a Whistling Chuck that just sits there until some Super Koopas start flying across the screen. Stomp the Whistling Chuck until it is defeated, then go to the right.
There are some gaps and two red Koopa Troopas on the platforms between the gaps. Then there is a Sumo Brother on a row of Prize Blocks that just contain coins. Eat the Green Berry after that, but beware of the two Para-Goombas.
Then jump over the gaps on the right and get the coins and Dragon Coin, but beware of the Confused Chuck after that.
Then there are two coins, a Red Berry, a green Koopa Paratroopa, a Prize Block that contains a Cape Feather, a Green Berry, and another green Koopa Paratroopa.
After a gap, there are pipes with Grab Blocks between them. There is a Flying Prize Block above that, so you can try to pick up a Grab Block and throw it at the Prize Block. It contains a 1-Up Mushroom.
Next, you might want to take another Grab Block with you, then jump over the gap, and kick the Grab Block at a Confused Chuck. Do this again for the others if you wish, then get back on Yoshi and get the Dragon Coin just after the top of the hills.
After that, get the two coins and eat the Green Berry and Red Berry. As you go to the right, you find coins that spell out the message This is followed by the Giant Gate.
After the Level
The path to the west will unlock and you will be asked if you want to save. You can use the Star Road to the left of Funky to return to Yoshi's House, where you can see the new appearance of Dinosaur Land. Koopa Troopas, Piranha Plants, and Bullet Bills will look different, and if you're playing Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2 for the Game Boy Advance, Goombas and Pokeys will change appearance as well. The land will have Fall colors.
