How to Clear Iggy's Castle

Yoshi can't join you in Iggy's Castle, so you will leave him outside if you have him.

Hit the Message Block to learn about climbing fences and opening doors.

Jump and press Up to climb on the fence. As you go to the right, past the lava, there will be two green Koopa Troopas and a red Koopa Troopa. You can stay on the fence and hit them from above to make them fall off. To get off the fence to collect the four coins, just jump without pressing Up, and you will fall off.

After that, there is a green Koopa Troopa going up and down on the back side of the fence. You can punch the fence by pressing X or Y. Punch it when the Koopa Troopa is on the other side of the fence and you will knock the Koopa Troopa off.

Next, jump to the right to get the two coins, but watch out for the green Koopa Troopa that is going around the fence to the right of the coins.

To the right of that, there is a green Koopa Troopa going around the fence up and down, and a red Koopa Troopa on the other side of the fence and is going to the left. Punch the red Koopa Troopa and try to hit the green Koopa Troopa from above, or punch it if it's on the other side.

Hit the five Prize Blocks above the fence. The middle Block contains a Super Mushroom or Fire Flower. Then step on the P Switch down below, and the Brown Blocks will turn into coins that you can collect.

Then go to the right, and there is a green Koopa Troopa behind the fence and another green Koopa Troopa on the same side as you.

Go to the right, above the lava, but watch out for the Lava Bubble that goes up and down near the right side of the lava pit. There is also a red Koopa Troopa on the other side of the fence that you can punch if you wish.

After the lava, there is a green Koopa Troopa behind the fence, and another one on the same side as you. This part of the fence has a revolving door. If you are on the revolving door and you press X or Y to punch, the door will spin around and you will go to the other side of the fence. You can optionally do this to punch the green Koopa Troopa that is on the same side as you.

If you are on the back of the fence and you jump to the right, you will end up on the front of the fence. This section of fence has several green Koopa Troopas and a red one, as well as some coins above the lava pit on the right. Use the revolving doors as needed to get rid of the Koopa Troopas.

To the right of the fence, there is a Message Block that you can hit to learn that you need to push Iggy into the lava to rescue Yoshi's friend who is held captive in Iggy's castle.

Go through the Midway Gate, then go through the Yellow Door.

This area automatically scrolls from right to left. Beware of the giant wooden Pillars that slam down from above. Stay near the left side of the screen until you know where the next pillar is going to fall.

There are three coins, and the two rightmost coins are in the path of the first pillar. This is followed by three coins on the floor, and the two leftmost coins are in the path of the first pillar.

Then there is a ditch in the floor. Get in the ditch and crouch if you're tall to avoid the second pillar. There are three coins, the first two of which are in the path of this second pillar.

This is followed by a Flying Prize Block that contains a Super Mushroom or Fire Flower. Quickly hit it before it goes off screen.

Next, there are four coins above a hole, all of which are in the path of the pillar. After the pillar goes back up, jump over the hole and get the coins.

Then there is a Stretch Block that grows and shrinks. It has five coins above it. It is in the path of the pillar, but you should try to run across it before the pillar appears. You should be able to get past the pillar before it slams down.

After that, go through the big red door to face the dungeon boss.

Iggy Koopa

The platform that you and Iggy are on will tilt left and right. You will start to slip in the direction of the slope, so keep moving. Iggy will duck into his shell and create a fireball that rolls toward you, even uphill. You can destroy these fireballs by pressing down to slide down the slope toward it. The fireballs will hurt you if you try to stomp them.

Stomp on Iggy or hit him with a fireball to make him slide part of the way down the slope. Keep making him slide toward the edge until he falls into the lava.

After the Level

There will be a cutscene, then the path to the north will be unlocked, and you automatically go north. You will be asked if you want to save the game. Then you can begin the next level, Donut Plains 1.
