How to Clear Forest of Illusion 2

To the right, if you have been to the Green Switch Palace, there will be a Green Block that contains a Cape Feather.

As you go to the right, Blurps will swim from the right side of the screen. Swim past the Urchin that goes up and down, and you will reach another Urchin. You have to wait for the second Urchin to go up before you can go down and right. A Blurp will swim toward you as you start going to the right.

Next, there is an Urchin that goes left and right, and a formation of five Blurps that come from the right. Wait for the formation to swim past (or have Yoshi eat some of them) then go upward from the Urchin when it goes to the right.

Up above, there is a Dragon Coin on the left. You can pick up the Grab Block on the right (but watch out for the Blurp from the right) and kick the Grab Block at the Urchin to get rid of it so you can get the Dragon Coin.

Then go to the right, crouch to avoid the Blurp from the right if it is there, then wait for the Urchin to go to the bottom of its path so you can swim up and to the right.

Next, there are two Urchins circling around square platforms. The first one goes clockwise and the second goes counterclockwise, so be sure to go counterclockwise around the lower platform, while dodging any Blurps that come from the left.

Next, go to the right, and you can optionally take the Grab Block. There are two Blurps that come from the right. As you go up, three Cheep Cheeps are going left and right across your path, so don't let them hit you. They don't go all the way to the left, so you can stay on the left side of the path to avoid them. At the top, there is a Prize Block that contains a Fire Flower.

Next, there are multiple paths that you can take, but you should start by going to the right through the upper path. There are two Blurps that come from the right, then there are two Urchins that go up and down. Go past them when they are out of the way and get the Dragon Coin, but beware of the Rip van Fish that wakes up when you get close to it.

Next, if you don't want a Dragon Coin, skip ahead to After the Middle Path on this page. If you do want a Dragon Coin, go to the left, and if you can safely go downward through the path where the Urchins are going, do so, then go to the left past another Urchin (which might not be there if there are too many enemies on screen), then go downward. If you can't safely get past the two Urchins, go to the left until you can go downward.

At the bottom, you find a Rip van Fish (unless there are too many enemies on screen), so try not to let it hit you if it's there, then go to the right, past another Urchin when it goes to the left. There is a seemingly empty room to the right of that Urchin, but there are some hidden Prize Blocks there. One of the hidden Prize Blocks contains a 1-Up Mushroom, but if you hit the other Prize Blocks before you hit that one, the Mushroom will get trapped above them and you won't be able to get it. To avoid this, stand to the right of the short ledge beneath the small room, then swim straight up to reveal the 1-Up Mushroom. Wait for it to come down to your level before you get it. Then you can hit the rest of the hidden Prize Blocks, which just contain one coin each.

Go to the right from there and you find a Blurp, and a Rip Van Fish next to a Dragon Coin.

Go back to the left until you can go up, then go to the right as soon as you can, past the two Urchins that are side-by-side.

After the Middle Path

If you are in the upper path, go down to the middle path and swim to the right of the side-by-side Urchins. You find another pair of side-by-side Urchins, then a Blurp. Next, there are three Urchins going around three square platforms. Beneath the rightmost square platform, there is a Grab Block that you can take and kick at the next Urchin. This is only recommended if you don't have Yoshi.

The next Urchin goes up and down, and there is a Dragon Coin beneath it. Then there is another up-and-down Urchin, and two more Urchins that block the path. After that, there is an Urchin going counterclockwise around a rectangular platform.

If you want to use the Secret Exit, go to the bottom and and swim to the left, where there is a Yellow Block if you visited the Yellow Switch Palace. Keep swimming left past what looks like a wall, but it doesn't block your path. There you will find the key and keyhole. The path to the east will unlock, and you can go to the Blue Switch Palace.

Otherwise, swim to the right past the Urchin that goes counterclockwise around the rectangular platform. This area has some Blurps, and many Rip Van Fishes that slowly sink down from the ceiling. The sixth ceiling fish has a Dragon Coin above it, but it is recommended to get rid of the Rip Van Fishes first if you can, because there is a whistling Chargin' Chuck that wakes up all the Rip Van Fishes so that they all start chasing you. After the Dragon Coin, swim to the right while avoiding any remaning Rip Van Fishes, and a Blurp that swims from the right side of the screen, and go through the Giant Gate.

After the Level

If you went through the secret exit, the east path will unlock and you can go to the Blue Switch Palace. If you went through the Giant Gate, the south path will unlock and you can go to Forest of Illusion 3.
