How to clear Chocolate Island 5 in Super Mario World for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and Game Boy Advance.

How to Clear Chocolate Island 5
If you're Caped Mario, you can optionally get a Gray P Switch that allows you to get a lot of Gray Coins, which can give you extra lives if you collect enough. If you don't want to do that or you're not Caped Mario, skip this paragraph. Otherwise, jump down from the ledge and go to the right so you're up against the Brown Blocks around the Spiny on the ground, then run to the left and fly up just before you hit the wall, and start flying right while still holding the fly buttons. You will find a Gray P Switch on a platform of clouds. Pick it up and take it back down to where you were, but don't hit it yet. Go to the right and pick up the regular Switch Block. Put both P Switches on solid ground, then hit both of them and the Spinies will turn into Gray Coins that you can run to the right and collect. If you get 7 or more Gray Coins, you get a 1-Up, if you get 8 or more, you get a 2-Up and if you get 9 or more Gray Coins, you get a 3-Up.
If you aren't Caped Mario or you don't want to get the Gray P Switch, go to the right and pick up the P Switch and put it on solid ground but don't hit it yet. The Prize Block above the Brown Blocks contains a Yoshi's Egg, and the bottom-right Block in the ring of Blocks contains a Fire Flower.
Take the P Switch to the pipe that is covered up. Before you use it, you might want to jump on top of the ring of Blocks above and to the right of the pipe, then jump up and left from there to get a Dragon Coin that is above the edge of the screen.
Then step on the P Switch, collect the coins above the pipe but don't go down it yet, then go to the right, get the Super Mushroom if desired, go to the right and hit the Roulette Block if you're Caped Mario, then go to the right and get the Dragon Coin from within the ring of coins. If you need an additional Super Mushroom and you have been to the Yellow Switch Palace, you can continue to the right and get the coins beneath the Yellow Block before you move on.
After that, you can optionally go back to the Blocks to the right of the gap and hit the bottom-left one (if you're Caped Mario or bring a shell from later in the level) to get a 1-Up Mushroom.
You can also optionally go back to the pipe that you uncovered and go down it to reach a 1-Up Chamber, but this will make you have to backtrack if you want all the Dragon Coins in the level. If you do go down the pipe, skip to After the Pipe on this page.
After the area with Spinies, you find a pipe, followed by a pit of water. If you want to get all the Dragon Coins in this level, don't get the Dragon Coin above the water yet. You can optionally go down the pipe here to reach an area with two Dragon Coins, some regular coins, some pits of water, and bubbles that float from right to left. Some bubbles contain Super Mushrooms and others contain Cheep Cheeps. If you went down this pipe, skip to After the Pipe on this page.
If you don't go down either of those pipes, go to the right and there is a Dragon Coin above the water, but you might want to leave it there, because if you get five Dragon Coins and then go through a pipe, any remaining Dragon Coins that would have been in that area will disappear.
Above the water, there are two Para-Goombas and Para-Bombs that float down from above. There are also regular coins above the water.
To the right, if you have Blue Yoshi (such as from Star World 2 or by using the Yoshi Wings in Cheese Bridge Area) you can have Yoshi eat the Green Shell, then fly up to find shells of many different colors on a platform of Brown Blocks.
Otherwise, go across the water.
After the Pipe
After the pipe, you find the Midway Gate. Then there are several green pipes that go up and down. The second pipe has a Dragon Coin above it unless you went through a pipe and got a total of five Dragon Coins there.
Go to the right along the rising and falling pipes, get the coins above the pipes if you wish, and you reach some Stretch Blocks that alternate between horizontal and vertical, so be sure to stand on the middle block so you don't fall off.
After the Stretch Blocks, there is another rising and falling pipe, followed by a Dragon Coin and a Clappin' Chuck. After that, there are three Clappin' Chucks before the Giant Gate.
After the Level
The path to the north will unlock and you can go to #6 Wendy's Castle.
