A Rift in the Gerudo Desert

You arrive in the Gerudo Desert and begin your search for the rift that Tri saw.

Explore Gerudo Desert

To the west, you find a scorpion-like monster. Defeat it with a monster echo or with swordfighter form. Then you can learn the Aruroda echo.

To the south, you find some Gerudo soldiers. Approach them and there will be a cutscene.

North of those soldiers, there is a cave. You can reach it by making trampolines to go up the ledges. In the cave, there is a tougher version of the Caromadillo. Defeat it with monster echoes, and you can learn the Caromadillo Lv. 2 echo. Go up the ladder and through the door, and the door will lock behind you. Defeat the two Caromadillo Lv. 2s to make a chest appear. Open it to get 10 pieces of chilly cactus.

Exit the cave and go west to find a buried chest. Press X to bind to the chest, pull on it to get it out of the sand. Open it to get 20 rupees.

West of the soldiers, there is a fish-like monster swimming in the sand. Create a Crawltula echo to defeat it, and you can learn the Sand Piranha echo.

Go west to reach the Oasis.

Oasis

Check on the waypoint at the oasis to add it to your map.

You can open the chest northwest of the pond in the oasis to get some Chilly Cacti.

In the western part of the oasis, you find a Business Scrub (you have to approach the counter south of the treasure chest). The Business Scrub is running a Smoothie Shop. You can pick two ingredients (they can both be the same or they can both be different) to blend them into a smoothie. Make a smoothie to start the quest Recipes, Please!.

Talk to the nearby guard, Tormali, to begin the quest The Flying Tile.

Go into the tent to find the Tough Mango Plant Lab. Inside, you can go up to the beds to learn the Soft Bed echo. If you create this bed and rest on it, you will restore hearts more quickly than on an Old Bed.

Talk to Tourma in the Tough Mango Plant Lab to play a game of Mango Rush. You can press R to spin and quickly harvest the mangoes. Try not to hit a mango plant more than once. If you get at least 40, you receive 5 tough mangoes. This unlocks a harder level of Mango Rush, where you harvest Vibrant Seeds instead of Standard Seeds. During the Vibrant Seeds course, thorns can pop up out of the ground, so make sure not to stand on top of the bumps in the ground in case thorns pop out instead of a mango plant, or you will get hurt. In addition, you should make a trampoline next to each of the two raised areas next to the door, because mango plants can sometimes pop out on those platforms, but Zelda doesn't jump high enough to reach them. If you get at least 50 mangoes during the Vibrant Seeds course, Tourma gives you her Golden Fan.

Go north from the oasis to find a sandstorm. You may find a monster with a whirlwind swirling around it. Use a monster echo or the swordfighter form to defeat it, then you can learn the Tornando echo.

West of that, there is a monster fortification, where you can fight Boarblins. Defeat them to learn the Boarblin echo, and the Boomerang Boarblin echo. Afterward, climb up the ladder and open the chest that unlocked, and you get 7 warm peppers.

North of that, you can go up the ledges, and make your way to the east. Bind to the cactus on the platform and pull it toward you so you can pick up and throw the cactus. Then jump to the small platform or just make Old Bed echoes to go across. At the eastern platform, there is a Piece of Heart to the south. To reach it, you can just make Old Beds on top of each other, and after you make four of them, you should be able to fall onto the Piece of Heart platform.

West of the oasis, if you go slightly north, you reach an area with a sandstorm. In this area, you can find a pile of sand with swirling air coming out of the top. Approach it and you will have to battle the Lanmola.

Lanmola

The area around the pile of sand will turn into quicksand. Stand on one of the harder areas of sand in the corners. Lanmola will move around under the sand, but it will sometimes come to the surface, throwing rocks that you have to dodge, and then it will walk around on top of the sand. Its tail has a spinning propeller. You can press X to bind to the propeller, then pull on it to pull Lanmola out of the sand, where it will be stuck on its back for a few moments. You can use swordfighter form, or use some fast, flying enemies like Keese, to hit Lanmola while it's upside-down.

After you defeat the Lanmola, it drops a bunch of rupees, and the whirlwind in the area goes away, and so does the quicksand.

After Lanmola

Afterward, you can go north into the cave. In the cave, you can defeat Beetles to learn the Beetle echo. After you get past the Beetles, go up the slope and you can learn the Beetle Mound echo. Afterward, go through the door to the north. Open the chest to get a Might Crystal.

To the west of that cave, there is a waypoint that you can add to your map.

North of that waypoint, there is a cave with a fancy door. This is the Ancestor's Cave of Rest. You will come back here later, so just ignore it for now.

In the northwest part of Gerudo Desert, you will find some tough red boarblins. If you can defeat them, you can learn the Boomerang Boarblin Lv. 2 echo and the Club Boarblin Lv. 2 echo. Open the in the north part of that area to get an Energy Glove. You can equip it to make dark monsters more likely to drop energy.

In the mountains north of there, you will find a Stamp Stand. There is a cave west of that Stamp Stand, where you will find flying tiles. You need to run up to one before it starts flying toward you, then press ZR to learn the Flying Tile echo.

Go through the north door and dodge all the flying tiles. When they're all gone, go through the north door. You can try to use flying tiles to defeat the Octorok and Keese, or you can just bind to the Octorok and drop it in the pit. Then turn so you're facing east, and you're looking at the solid ground in the southeast corner of the room, and create a flying tile echo and jump on it before it flies away. If you aimed it correctly, it will take you to the southeast corner. Go up the ladder, then turn to face the glowing thing that has an open eye on it. Turn to face it, then create a flying tile, and it will hit the glowing thing, closing the eye. This opens the bars. Use a tile to go back to the left side of the room, and open the chest to get 100 rupees.

You can warp back to the Oasis if you still need to complete "The Flying Tile".

South of the oasis, you will begin to see the rift. Near the ruins there, you can fight slow-moving monsters with scary masks. You can create a Darknut to fight it, but you should keep your distance to avoid being frozen by the monster's scream. Defeat the monster and check on the shimmering, floating monster to learn the ReDead echo.

Desert Building

There is a small building in this area. Go inside, and you find jets of air. To get past them, you should get on top of the ledge, then create a boulder north of you, bind to it, and walk west with the boulder north of you to block the jet of air. Before you go past the jets of air that come from the south, you should drop the boulder or destroy it, then create a boulder south of you, and bind to it, and walk past the jets of air that come from the south.

Then you can go north, approach the shimmering pots, and learn the Gerudo Pot echo. Then go up the slope on the right and create a boulder to the right of you, bind to it, and go to the right. Drop the boulder in front of the jet of air, then go around to the side or back of the jet, and learn the Wind Cannon echo.

Go through the east door. Create a Wind Cannon, then pick it up and carry it around. Go up to each pile of sand to blow it away, but beware of an Aruroda (scorpion) hiding under one of the dirt piles. You'll reveal a door to the north, and a locked door to the east.

First, go through the north door. The door will lock behind you, and you have to defeat two Tornandos. You might want to switch to swordfighter form if you have swordfighter energy. When you defeat the two Tornandos, a chest appears. Open it to get 3 rocktatoes.

Go south and step on the button to the left of the door (create a Wind Cannon and pick it up and walk around with it if you only see piles of sand and not a button), and go through the east door that opens. Open the chest to get 2 Might Crystals.

Back Outside

To exit the building, you can make a Wind Cannon pointing south, then make a Keese and pick it up, and stand in front of the Wind Cannon to float down to the exit of the building.

South of the building, you can bind to a treasure chest in the sand, then pull on it to get it out of the sand. Open it to get 10 pieces of Chilly Cactus.

Southeast of that, you can go up on the ledges and use a Wind Cannon to blow away the piles of sand to find a Might Crystal.

North of that, there is a tile that you can check on to meet the Stamp Guy, and you'll get a Stamp Card.

Go west from there to find a waypoint that you can add to your map.

South of that, there is a treasure chest in the sand. Bind to it and pull on it to get it out of the sand, then open it to get 20 rupees.

Go northwest from there, to the southern side of the big rift, and there will be a cutscene. This will update the quest.

Go northwest from there and talk to the Gerudo guard. Then go southeast until there is a cutscene. Defeat the dark floating monster (or any monster echoes that it creates), and there will be a cutscene. You will meet Dohna.

Go Northwest

You can either use echoes to go over the ledges to the northwest, or you can warp to the oasis and go west from there.

South of Gerudo Town, there is a pile of sand. Use a Wind Cannon echo to blow the sand away and reveal a chest. Open it to get 50 rupees.

Then go north to find a waypoint in front of Gerudo Town. Check on it to add it to your map, then enter Gerudo Town.

Gerudo Town

Near the entrance of the town, you can talk to a woman to start the quest Tornado Ghost?.

The Gerudo Town shop sells Gerudo Sandals, which prevent you from sinking in quicksand, and Red Potion, Chilly Cactus, and Warm Peppers.

In the northwest part of the town, you can start the quest Elusive Tumbleweeds.

North of that, you can play tag with the Gerudo soldier, as part of the quest Gerudo Tag Training.

Now you can enter the palace.

Gerudo Palace

Go up the stairs and approach the people, and there will be a cutscene. Afterward, exit the palace, and there will be another cutscene. Your next destination is the Oasis, so warp there. Go west from the waypoint and approach Dohna. There will be a cutscene.

Your task is now to close the smaller rifts in the desert. You can ask Dohna about each one. They will be marked on your map.

Southern Oasis Ruins

Go to the marked destination southeast of the oasis. Approach the soldiers you find there, and there will be a cutscene. This starts the quest Southern Oasis Ruins Rift.

Ancestor's Cave of Rest

Go to the marked destination northwest of the oasis. Go through the fancy cave door and approach the soldier you find there, and there will be a cutscene. This starts the quest Ancestor's Cave of Rest Rift.

Southern Gerudo Desert

Warp to Gerudo Town and go south from the waypoint. Approach the soldiers and there will be a cutscene. You'll receive two Chilly Cacti. This starts the quest Southern Gerudo Desert Rift.

Go to the Palace

After you complete the above quests, go back to Gerudo Town and enter the palace, and go up the stairs. Approach Dohna and there will be a cutscene.

Visit the Eastern Rift

Teleport to the oasis, then go east, then north to the quest destination. Approach Facette and Seera, and there will be a cutscene.

Go north and check the glowing spot in the rift. There will be a cutscene. Go north and enter the glowing spot to enter the Stilled Desert Temple Ruins.
