Requirements

This quest is available if you have completed the quest Shadows of the First.

Starting the Quest

Talk to Alphinaud in the Coerthas Central Highlands to begin the quest.

Speak with Aymeric

Go west to the Gates of Judgement and talk to the Temple Knight Gateguard, and say Yes to go to Ishgard. You can either go up the wooden drawbridge toward the quest icon on the map, or you can use the Brume Aethernet Shard to go to the Forgotten Knight Aethernet Shard. Go through the doors behind Firmalbert and go to the quest icon on the map. Talk to Aymeric to proceed. There will be a cutscene.

Speak with Alphinaud

Talk to Alphinaud to proceed. There will be a cutscene.

Speak with Urianger

Go to Western Thanalan. Go to where the orange arrow is pointing in the minimap and enter the Waking Sands. There will be a cutscene. This one is important, so it is recommended to watch it either now or via the Unending Journey in an inn room.

Speak with Bloeidin

Go to Camp Overlook in Outer La Noscea and go to the quest icon on the map. Talk to Bloeidin to complete the quest. There will be a cutscene.

After you complete the quest, talk to Bloeidin to accept the next quest: Unlikely Allies.
