How to change to a different Grand Company in Final Fantasy XIV.

Step 1: Reach Second Lieutenant

Before you can change to a different Grand Company, you first have to rank up to Second Lieutenant. Please see How to Rank Up in Your Grand Company for the steps to reach Second Lieutenant.

Step 2: Talk to the Personnel Officer of the Grand Company You Want to Switch To

Go to the headquarters of the Grand Company that you want to switch to, and talk to the Personnel Officer. If you are Second Lieutenant or higher in your current Grand Company, the Personnel Officer will give you the option to apply for transfer.

If you change Grand Companies, you will have to wait 15 days to switch again. The first change is free, and thereafter it will cost 50,000 gil. Switching away from a Grand Company does not cause you to be demoted in that Grand Company if you decide to switch back. You will lose access to the seals (currency) specific to that Grand Company, but the seals that you earned will still be there if you switch back.
