The Warmth of Family - Quest Guide

Koana appears loath to part from his rroneek companion...

Requirements

This quest is available if you have completed the quest Guidance of the Hhetso.

Starting the Quest

Talk to Koana in Shaaloani to begin the quest. There will be a cutscene.

Speak with Koana

There will be a glow around Koana, indicating a solo duty. Check on him and there will be a cutscene, and then the duty will ensue.

Solo Duty: The Warmth of Family

Part 1

Go south to find a group of Rroneek. Check on each of the Trembling Rroneek.

Afterward, keep going south until you find a group of Yeheheceyaa attacking some Rroneek. Defeat all the Yeheheceyaa, then defeat the Ceratoraptors that appear.

Next, several Horned Lizards will appear, and they will each tether to a Rroneek. Stand between the middle Horned Lizard and the Rroneek to block the tether. Koana and Wuk Lamat will block the left and right tethers. Keep attacking the Horned Lizards, making sure to block the tether until it disappears.

Then fight the Alpha Alligator that appears. After a while, smaller Alligators will appear, but you should continue to focus your attacks on the Alpha Alligator, because Koana will defeat the smaller Alligators.

After you defeat the Alpha Alligator, there will be a cutscene.

Part 2

You will battle the Tturuhhetso. It has a defense up buff, so don't worry about trying to deal a lot of damage. Eventually, you can target the Scale-armored Leg. Focus your attacks on the leg.

The boss will cast Searing Swell, a cone attack in front of it, but this is followed by a cone attack behind it, so stay to the side of the boss.

The first cone will leave glowing Balls of Fire in the area. The first fireballs that appear will each do line attacks in the direction of their pointy ends, so avoid being in front of the pointy ends of the first fireballs that appear. After the first line attacks go off, move to where those line attacks occurred so you can avoid the second set.

The boss will target each character one by one with Tricera Snare, which marks you with a circle attack marker that follows you. Move away from the other characters to avoid overlapping them with your circle.

After you defeat the Scale-armored Leg, Wuk Lamat will chain the Tturuhhetso. Eventually, you will be knocked back and stunned, and there will be a mid-battle cutscene.

After the cutscene, the Tturuhhetso no longer has a defense up buff, so do as much damage to it as you can.

The boss will move to the center and cast Searing Swell, the cone attacks from before, but this time, it will do four cone attacks around itself, so there will be more fireballs doing more line attacks. Stand in the quadrant diagonal to where the first two cone attacks go off, so you can avoid the first two sets of line attacks. Then you can move into the quadrant where the first two line attacks occurred to dodge the next two.

The boss will then cast Firestorm, placing large circle attack markers on the area. Move into a safe spot, then move into the center to avoid the second set of circle attacks that the boss places on the area.

The boss will cast Candescent Ray, which targets a random player with a line stack marker. If you are marked, stand in the middle to allow Wuk Lamat and Koana to stack with you. If another character is marked, stack together in a line with the marked character to reduce the damage of the attack.

Primordial Roar damages all characters.

Glowing orbs will appear around the edges of the area and will tether to the boss. You should try to collect these orbs before they reach the boss. Try to keep your distance from Wuk Lamat and Koana so you can collect the orbs that they can't reach.

Keep collecting orbs while damaging the boss until the boss is defeated. There will be a cutscene.
