Alphinaud asks you to bid farewell to the friends who are staying behind while he and Cid make the final preparations.

Requirements

This quest is available if you have completed the quest An Eye for Aether.

Starting the Quest

Talk to Alphinaud in Ishgard to begin the quest.

Speak with Aymeric

Talk to Aymeric to proceed.

Speak with Lucia, Tataru, and Hilda

Go north to the Aethernet Shard and use it to go to the Forgotten Knight Aethernet Shard. Go east through the double doors behind Firmalbert and go to the quest icon on the map. Talk to Lucia.

Then go outside and go south into the Forgotten Knight. Go downstairs and talk to Tataru.

Go back upstairs and outside, and you can either go southwest down the stairs, then fall off of the west side of the wooden bridge and go to the quest icon on the map, or use the Forgotten Knight Aethernet Shard to go to the Brume Aethernet Shard. Go northwest to the quest icon on the map and talk to Hilda.

Speak with Edmont

Go southeast to the Aethernet Shard and use it to go to the Last Vigil Aethernet Shard. Talk to the House Fortemps Guard to enter Fortemps Manor, and talk to Edmont. There will be a cutscene.

Report to Alphinaud

Go outside and use the Aethernet Shard to go to the Athenaeum Astrologicum Aethernet Shard. Go south to where the orange arrow is pointing in the minimap. Talk to Alphinaud to complete the quest.

Next Main Scenario Quest

After you complete the quest, talk to Alphinaud to accept the next quest: The First Flight of the Excelsior.
