This quest is available if you have completed the quest Once More, a Favor.

Starting the Quest

Talk to Emmanellain in the Coerthas Western Highlands to begin the quest. There will be a cutscene. This one is important, so it is recommended to watch it either now or via the Unending Journey in an inn room. (Main Scenario 1 > Dragonsong Main Scenario Quests > For Those We Have Lost > Cutscenes 1, 2, and 3.)

Speak with Thancred

Talk to Thancred to proceed.

Speak with the People

Go north to the quest icon on the map and talk to the Highborn Merchant.

Go northeast up the stairs, go to the quest icon on the map, and talk to Josseloux.

Speak with Thancred Again

Go west to the quest icon on the map and talk to Thancred to complete the quest.

Next Main Scenario Quest

After you complete the quest, talk to Thancred to accept the next quest: Consequences.
