You prepare to fly the Excelsior to Carteneau and progress to the next phase of the plan.

Requirements

This quest is available if you have completed the quest The Greater Obeisance.

Starting the Quest

Talk to Yda in the Rising Stones in Revenant's Toll in Mor Dhona to begin the quest.

Speak with Cid in Mor Dhona

Leave the Rising Stones and go outside. Go south to where the orange arrow is pointing in the minimap. There will be a glow around Cid, indicating an instanced battle. Check on him and there will be a cutscene, and then the battle will ensue.

Solo Duty: Fly Free, My Pretty

Ignore any additional enemies that appear and focus all attacks on Grynewaht. You can make Grynewaht face away from your allies to prevent his frontal cone attack from hitting them.

After a while, there will be a cutscene, then the battle will resume.

Use the actions that are added to your hotbar or crossbar. Defeat the Colossi before defeating other enemies.

Afterward, you will once again battle Grynewaht. Dodge any attack markers, and make sure not to stand in any persistent fire puddles.

After the battle, there will be a cutscene.

Speak with Cid in Omega Control

Go to the quest icon on the map and talk to Cid. Say Yes to travel to Gridania.

Speak with Cid at the Airship Landing

Go to the quest icon on the map and talk to Cid to complete the quest.

Next Main Scenario Quest

After you complete the quest, talk to Alphinaud to accept the next quest: The Far Edge of Fate. There will be a cutscene.
