This page explains how to complete the level 85 Endwalker quest "Beyond the Depths of Despair".

Requirements

This quest is available if you have completed the quest Amidst the Apocalypse.

Starting the Quest

Talk to G'raha Tia in Radz-at-Han to begin the quest.

Speak with Y'shtola

Go south to the stairs and make your way up to the ledge in the northwest of the room. Go northwest to the orange circle on the map. Go to the southeast part of the orange circle and talk to Y'shtola to proceed. There will be a cutscene.

Speak with Alphinaud

Talk to Alphinaud to proceed.

Survey the Area and Defeat any Enemies that Appear

Go south to the quest icon and check on the Destination. Defeat the Terminus Snatcher that attacks.

Then go to the next quest icon and check on the Destination. Defeat the Terminus Pursuer and Terminus Stalker that attack.

Speak with Alisaie

Go south to where the orange arrow is pointing in the minimap. Talk to Alisaie to proceed. There will be a cutscene.

Save the Villagers

Attune to the Aetheryte, then go southeast and go behind the house. Check on the Frightened Au Ra to proceed.

Go west to the southern edge of the orange circle on the map and check on the Exhausted Hyur.

Go to the north edge of the orange circle on the map and check on the Collapsed Hyur and the Motionless Villager.

Speak with Alphinaud Again

Go to the quest icon on the map and talk to Alphinaud to complete the quest.

Optional: Thavnair Aether Current

You can optionally go east to find a nearby Aether Current. You can use the Aether Compass (found in Main Menu > Duty > Collection) to help you pinpoint its location. Check on the Aether Current to attune to it.

Next Main Scenario Quest

After you complete the quest, talk to Alphinaud to accept the next quest: That We Might Live.
