This page explains how to complete the level 80 post-Shadowbringers quest "A Whale's Tale".

Requirements

This quest is available if you have completed the quest Deep Designs.

Starting the Quest

Talk to Urianger in the Tempest to begin the quest.

Speak to Urianger in Sullen

Teleport to the Ostall Imperative in Lakeland and go southeast to where the orange arrow is pointing in the minimap. Talk to Urianger to proceed. There will be a cutscene.

Speak with Urianger

Talk to Urianger to proceed. There will be a cutscene.

Remove Tenacious Barnacles

Go northwest to the orange circle on the map and go underwater.

Go to the west side of the orange circle in the map and check on each of the three sparkling Tenacious Barnacles.

Speak with Urianger

Go above the water. If you haven't unlocked flying yet, go to the east side of the Isle of Ken to find solid ground to walk up on. Go to the quest icon and talk to Urianger. There will be a cutscene.

Speak with Thancred

Talk to Thancred to proceed. There will be a cutscene.

Speak with Thancred Again

Go northeast to where the orange arrow is pointing in the minimap. Talk to Thancred to complete the quest. There will be a cutscene.

Next Main Scenario Quest

After you complete the quest, talk to Urianger to accept the next quest: Beneath the Surface.
