Faced with Hraesvelgr's troubling revelations, Estinien suggests finding Nidhogg's lair in the hope of defeating him.

Requirements

This quest is available if you have completed the quest Heart of Ice.

Starting the Quest

Talk to Alphinaud at Zenith in the Churning Mists to begin the quest.

Defeat Enemies as You Search for the Aery

Go southeast to where the orange arrow is pointing in the minimap. Dismount and enter the purple circle. Defeat the Shield Dragon in Waiting and the Amphiptere in Waiting.

Then go east along the paved stone path, which will lead you to the orange circle on the map. Dismount and enter the purple circle, and defeat the two Moss Dragons in Waiting.

Continue east along the paved stone path, then turn north when possible, to go toward the orange arrow in the minimap. Dismount and enter the purple circle, and defeat the two Amphipteres in Waiting, then defeat the Amphiptere Straggler that appears afterward.

Speak with Estinien

Continue north along the path and it will lead you to a stone structure. Go up the stairs and go to the quest icon on the map. Talk to Estinien to complete the quest. There will be a cutscene.

Aether Current Quest

With the completion of this quest, if you have also completed the blue quest "The Bathing Bully" in the Churning Mists, you can now start the blue quest "Hide Your Moogles" in the Churning Mists. Completing that quest will attune you to an Aether Current in this area.

Next Main Scenario Quest

After you complete the quest, talk to Estinien to accept the next quest: New Winds, Old Friends.
