After the banquet in Limsa Lominsa, Admiral Bloefhiswyn has an important task for you.

Requirements

This quest is only available if you started the game in Limsa Lominsa, you have completed the quest A Mizzenmast Repast, and have reached level 15.

Starting the Quest

To start the quest, talk to Merlwyb in Limsa Lominsa. You can talk to Zanthael, east of the main aetheryte of Limsa Lominsa, to enter the command room where Merlwyb awaits. Talk to her and there will be a cutscene.

Speak with Baderon

Leave the command room and go across to the Lift Attendant nearby. Go to The Drowning Wench, then turn right and talk to Baderon. There will be a cutscene.

Speak with L'nophlo

Go south from Baderon and talk to the Lift Attendant to go to the Airship Landing. Once there, talk to L'nophlo. Say Yes to proceed to the landing area.

Board the Airship

Follow the path and check on the gangplank. Say Yes to board the airship.

Speak with the Serpent Honor Guard

Follow the wooden bridge into the building and talk to the Arrivals Attendant. Say Yes to leave the landing area. Go forward and talk to the Serpent Honor Guard.

Present Merlwyb's Missive in Gridania

Turn around and go up the stairs. Go out the door on the left, then turn left and follow the path. Go north up the hill and you will see the main aetheryte of Gridania. Attune to it. It is recommended to attune to all the aetheryte crystals in Gridania when you have the chance to do so.

Go through one of the north gates to proceed to Old Gridania. The quest destination is there, near the Conjurers' Guild aetheryte. Talk to the Silent Conjurer and hand over the Letter to the Elder, and there will be a cutscene.

Speak with Lionnellais

Your next destination is the Airship Landing in Gridania. If you have attuned to all the aetherytes here, you can use the nearby aetheryte to go there. Otherwise, go to the Gridania Aetheryte Plaza and go south, enter the building on the right, and go down the stairs to find Lionnellais. Talk to him and say Yes to proceed to the landing area.

Board the Airship in Gridania

Turn right and go through the door to the outside, and follow the path to the gangplank. Check on it and say Yes to board the airship.

Speak with the Flame Honor Guard

Go forward and speak to the Arrivals Attendant, and say Yes to leave the landing area. Step forward and talk to the Flame Honor Guard.

Present Merlwyb's Missive

After speaking with the Flame Honor Guard, turn left and go down the ramp, and talk to Nanahomi. Take the lift to the Hustings Strip.

Follow the path and look for a path to the right. Follow it and you will find an aetheryte crystal. Attune to it, then make your way around the circle to go to the green check mark. Talk to Bartholomew and hand over the Letter to the General. There will be a cutscene.

After completing the quest, talk to Bartholomew to accept the next quest: Call of the Sea.
