This page explains how to complete the level 90 post-Endwalker quest "Restricted Reading".

Requirements

This quest is available if you have completed the quest Bridging the Rift.

Starting the Quest

Talk to Montichaigne in Old Sharlayan to begin the quest.

Speak with the Index Page

Go outside and use the Aethernet Shard to go to the Studium, then go southwest and enter the building. You can optionally stand in the glowing circle just inside the entrance and talk to Y'shtola. Then go to the quest icon and talk to the Index Page to proceed. There will be a cutscene.

Search for House Daemir's Research Notes

There are three books that you can interact with here. You can optionally read the Untitled Journal on the north wall and the Weighty Tome upstairs on the west wall, but the correct book is the Leather-bound Log upstairs on the south wall (you will not be able to read the other two after you read the Leather-bound Log).

Hand the Epiphanies of House Daemir to Y'shtola

Go downstairs and talk to Y'shtola to hand over the Epiphanies of House Daemir. There will be a cutscene.

Speak with Y'shtola

Talk to Y'shtola to proceed.

Speak with Nidhana at the Great Work

You can either talk to Kytte in the building northeast of the Baldesion Annex to go to Thavnair and go northwest to where the orange arrow is pointing in the minimap, or you can teleport to the Great Work and go to the quest icon from there. Talk to Nidhana to proceed. There will be a cutscene.

Inspect the Astrally Dense Pocket of Water

Teleport to Palaka's Stand and go southwest to where the orange arrow is pointing in the minimap, or fly east to where the orange arrow is pointing in the minimap. Check on the Astrally Dense Pocket.

Deliver the Flask

Teleport to the Great Work or fly west to it. Talk to Y'shtola to hand over the Astral-aspected Water and complete the quest.

Next Main Scenario Quest

After you complete the quest, talk to Y'shtola to accept the next quest: Void Theory.
