Marques gets the feeling he is being watched, and asks you to go outside and look for his observers.

Requirements

This quest is available if you have completed the quest Bury Me Not on the Lone Prairie.

Starting the Quest

Talk to Marques in the Church of Adama Landama northwest of Camp Drybone in Eastern Thanalan to begin the quest.

Search the Lichyard for Unseen Observers

Leave the church and go east. Check on the purple glowing Destination. Defeat the Imperial Frumentarius that appears.

Speak with Marques

Go back into the church and talk to Marques

Show the Sword to Father Iliud

Talk to Iliud and hand over the Imperial Shortword to complete the quest. There will be a cutscene. This one is important, so it is recommended to watch it either now or via the Unending Journey in an inn room.

Next Main Scenario Quest

After you complete the quest, you will need to be at least level 36 to proceed to the next quest. After you reach level 36, talk to Iliud to accept the next quest: He Who Waited Behind.
