Honoroit is concerned about Emmanellain's prolonged absence and asks you to look for him.

Requirements

This quest is available if you have completed the quest Hope Springs Eternal.

Starting the Quest

Talk to Honoroit in the Sea of Clouds to begin the quest.

Search for Emmanellain

Go up the rocky slopes to the east, and go east to where the orange arrow is pointing in the minimap. Check on the sparkling Destination to proceed.

Rendezvous with Honoroit

Go northeast to where the orange arrow is pointing in the minimap and check on the sparkling Destination to proceed. There will be a cutscene.

Speak with Honoroit

Go east to where the orange arrow is pointing in the minimap. There will be a glow around Honoroit, indicating an instanced battle. Check on him and there will be a cutscene, and then the battle will ensue.

Solo Duty: A Series of Unfortunate Events

Go north and defeat the Lan'laii Gundu and the Nat'laii Gundu. Then continue going north and defeat the Lan'laii Gundu. Go northeast from there and defeat the Nat'laii Gundu.

Go north from there and you can avoid the Gundu that you see along the way if you wish. When you can't go farther north, go northwest, and Emmanellain will call to you. Defeat the Lan'laii Gundu and the Vuk'laii Gundu that attack.

Then continue going northwest and check on the sparkling Brambleweed Rope to free Emmanellain.

As Emmanellain runs, defeat the Vuk'laii, Nat'laii, and Lan'laii Gundu that attack. Haurchefant and other House Fortemps Knights will arrive to assist. At this point, if you attack too many of the enemies, you will take too much damage, so only attack enemies that are directly attacking Emmanellain. If an enemy that you are targetting starts to attack Haurchefant or one of the knights instead, stop attacking that enemy and keep an eye out for any others that are directly attacking Emmanellain. This will allow Haurchefant and the other knights to take care of the remaining enemies, preventing you from taking too much damage.

When Emmanellain safely reaches the knight to the south, the duty will be complete. There will be a cutscene. This one is important, so it is recommended to watch it either now or via the Unending Journey in an inn room.

Speak with Cid

Go to the quest icon and talk to Cid to complete the quest. There will be a cutscene.

Next Main Scenario Quest

After you complete the quest, talk to Emmanellain to accept the next quest: A Reward Long in Coming.
