A Convenient Distraction - Quest Guide

Magnus has rebuffed you once more, so you decide to take matters into your own hands.

This quest is available if you have completed the quest The Truth Hurts, and have reached level 77.

Talk to Thancred in Amh Araeng to begin the quest.

Go east through the gate to leave the town, then go southeast until you can go southwest to the quest icon on the map. Talk to Thancred to proceed.

Go west into the cave and make your way west to where the orange arrow is pointing in the map. Talk to Guthjon to proceed. There will be a cutscene.

Talk to Thancred to proceed.

If the Darksight status wears off, go to the ❕ exclamation mark to talk to Thancred and receive the status again.

Go south to the orange circle on the map. Go to the west edge of the orange circle and check on the Dark Shadow there.

Go to the quest icon on the map and talk to Thancred to hand over the Voeburt Gold Piece.

Talk to Guthjon to hand over the Voeburt Gold Piece and complete the quest.

After you complete the quest, talk to Guthjon to accept the next quest: A Dirty Job.
