How to clear Mushroom Stage, also known as Mushroom Zone and Gate Course, in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins.

How to Clear Mushroom Stage
Go to the right and hit the two ? Blocks to get one coin from each. Then jump and stomp on the Goomba to get rid of it.
Next, there are two Brick Blocks, and there is a Koopa Troopa walking back and forth on top of them. You can make the Koopa Troopa hide in its shell if you hit a Brick from beneath when the Koopa Troopa is on top of it. You can optionally pick up and carry the shell by holding the B button and touching the shell, and you can kick the shell by letting go of the B button. The shell will keep sliding in the direction that you kicked it until it hits an obstacle, which makes it bounce and slide in the opposite direction. You might want to kick this shell to the left, because there is a wall to the right that the shell will bounce off of, and if it hits you, you will lose a life.
After the Bricks with the Koopa Troopa, there are two ? Blocks. The one on the left contains a Super Mushroom. Take the Super Mushroom to transform into Super Mario. As Super Mario, if you get hurt, you will shrink back down to regular-sized Mario.
Go to the right and press A to jump over the hills, then stomp the Goomba on the third hill. Then jump on top of the pipe and press down to go into a secret room where there are some coins. Touch the coins to collect them. At the right side of the room, you can go up the pipe by holding Up while you jump (press A) and hit the bottom of the pipe.
Then you can go to the left and hit the ? Blocks to get coins. The Bricks beneath the ? Blocks don't contain anything.
Go to the right and you encounter a flying Paragoomba. You can carefully stomp on it to turn it into a regular Goomba, which you can stomp to get rid of it.
To the right, there are two Empty Blocks. Jump onto them, then hold B and jump to the right to make a running jump and collect the three coins up above.
Go to the right, and there is a Piranha Plant going up and down from the pipe. You can't go down this pipe, so just go past the pipe when the plant has gone down. After that, there is another pipe with a Piranha Plant.
Next, there are some Bricks, and two ? Blocks. The ? Block on the left contains a 1-Up Heart, and the ? Block on the right contains a Star. The 1-Up Heart gives you an extra life, and the Star makes you temporarily invincible. While invincible, you will flash, and any enemies that you touch will be defeated.
While invincible, hold B to run to the right, and run straight through the two Goombas to defeat them. You may notice that a number appears above your head each time you defeat an enemy while invincible. If that number reaches 5, you get an extra life. After the two Goombas, jump onto the Empty Blocks and hit the Midway Bell. If you lose a life after you ring the bell, you will start the level at the bell instead of at the start of the level.
Hit the Goomba beneath the bell, then hit the two Koopa Troopas on top of the ? Blocks. This should be the fifth enemy you defeated while invincible, so you will get a 1UP.
There are eight coins above the ? Blocks, and the second-to-last ? Block contains a Fire Flower. Take the Fire Flower and you will turn into Fire Mario, and you can throw fireballs by pressing B. Fireballs defeat most enemies and can break certain types of bricks.
After that, there are some Bricks above a 1-Up heart. To get the heart, you need to be Super Mario or any tall version of Mario, such as Fire Mario. Jump and hold the down button to do a Spin Jump, which will break bricks beneath you. Break one or more of these bricks and take the 1-Up Heart.
Then go to the right, and there is a Goomba, followed by a platform of Empty Blocks, with Fiery Blocks on top of them. You can throw fireballs at the Fiery Blocks to destroy them. Throw a fireball at the Piranha Plant that comes out of the pipe to get rid of it. Get the coins above the Fiery Blocks, go down the pipe to find a hidden room that contains some coins. Then go back up the pipe.
To the right, there is a Goomba coming down some steps, then a pit with spikes in it, and a Koopa Troopa on the other side. Throw fireballs to defeat the enemies, then jump over the spikes and get the coins.
To the right, there are some Bricks. Be sure not to hit these from beneath. Instead, jump on them to hit the Bonus Bell above the goal. Hitting the Bonus Bell lets you do a minigame after you clear a stage. If you hit the Bonus Bell in this stage, you get to play "Mario Catcher" where a crane moves back and forth, and you can press A to stop the crane and make it move downward and try to catch whatever is passing by on the conveyor belt. If the crane catches an item, it will drop the item onto you. You have a chance of getting 1-Ups or a power-up item.
After the Level
After you complete this level, you will return to the world map. You can hold the B button and press the directional buttons to look at the map. There are many different places that you can visit, and you can visit the different zones in any order.
One of the places you can visit is the Casino, which is east of the Mushroom Stage, in a cave. You can spend coins at the Casino to play a slot machine, where you have a chance of winning 1-Ups or a power-up item. For more information, see Casino.
