A guide to completing World 3-3 in Super Mario Bros 1 for the Nintendo Entertainment System.
Get All the Coins
If you want to get a hidden 1UP in World 4-1, be sure to get all the coins in this level without dying! If you don't, the 1UP won't be there!
Explore World 3-3
Go to the right and jump onto the trees but be careful to avoid the Goomba. Run off the right edge to fall down below and get the two coins there. Then wait for the platform above you to go to the left side, and jump over the gap on the right to reach the next tree.
Jump up to get the single coin above you, then jump onto the tree on the right while getting the three coins there. Avoid the red Koopa Troopa (which doesn't fall off of the platform) and hit the ?-mark block to get a Mushroom or Flower. Then go down below to where there is another red Koopa Troopa and get the three coins.
Go up two trees to get the two coins on the tall tree. The platform on the right will start falling as soon as you land on it, so quickly jump off of it to the right so you land on the tree with a coin on it. Run to the right to automatically jump over the single gaps, getting the remaining two coins on these trees, then jump up to the higher tree to get the coin there.
There are two platforms connected by pulleys. The right platform will go up when the left platform goes down, and vice versa. If you stay too long on a platform, it will fall off and drop you into the pit below. Quickly get the coin on the left, then jump onto the platform on the right and quickly get the two coins there, and jump onto one of the two moving platforms on the right.
Get on the upper moving platform if you aren't there already, wait for the platform to go toward the right, and make a running jump to the right to reach the tree. Get the two coins, then walk off the right side to get the coin there, and walk off the right side to get the coin below.
Wait for the Paratroopa to be close to the bottom of the screen and jump over it (or just hit it with a fireball) and land on the small tree near the bottom of the screen. The tree above that has two red Koopa Troopas walking back and forth, so be careful when you jump onto that tree.
Go to the right of the tree and jump on the moving platform at the right side. The goal pole is to the right of the pulley platform, so stand on the left platform only long enough for the right platform to be close to the top, then jump on the right platform, then quickly run and jump to the right to hit the goal pole and continue to World 3-4.
