Explore World 2-1

Go to the right to find two ? blocks. Each has a coin in it. Farther ahead, there are Honen (fish skeletons) jumping out of the water. You can either jump on them or hit them with a Superball or just ignore them.

There is a small island under the island with three coins on it. If you stand on the left edge of the small island and jump straight up, you reveal a hidden block that contains a Mushroom or a Flower.

Get the coins from the top of the island above the hidden block mentioned in the previous paragraph. Then go to the right, up a series of islands, but be careful of the two Honen that jump up out of the water next to the tallest island.

To the right, jump onto the moving platform and wait for it to go to the right, then jump onto the moving platform above it. From there, go to the right and go down the pipe.

Before you get the coins, you can go up against the left wall, then jump straight up to find a hidden block that contains a Mushroom or Flower. Start by jumping onto the highest brick, then jump straight up to break the one above that. Collect all but the rightmost coins there, then if you're Superball Mario, throw Superballs to get the coins on the right side. Go back down through the hole on the left, then hit all the bricks below you. The one on the right contains a Mushroom or Flower. Then fall into the area of coins on the right, collect all the coins, then jump to break the bricks. If you didn't get the coins above the pipe, jump on top of the pipe so you can jump up and get them.

Back outside, you can hit the ? block to get a Mushroom or Flower. Collect the five coins on top of the islands.

Go to the right and carefully cross the bridge where more Honen are jumping up and down, collecting coins as you go. On the second bridge, there is also a Bombshell Koopa.

Go to the right, past Honen and a couple of Goombos. You reach a couple of ? blocks. The rightmost ? block contains a Star. Catch it and you can run through the three Goombos to the right, get the three coins on top of the tallest hill, then go to the right past several Honen and a Yurarin Boo, which jumps up and down, and also spits fireballs. You can jump on top of the Yurarin Boo to get rid of it, or just go past it.

After that, there is a pipe with a Piranha Plant going in and out. You can go into the pipe to find some coins. Get the coins from the floor, then go up against the wall on the right and jump straight up to reveal a hidden block. Jump up onto the platform with gaps, and run across. Jump up to the platform above that, and get the coins and go through the pipe.

The ? block has several coins in it, so keep hitting it until coins stop coming out. Collect the five coins to the right of that, then to the right you find two ? blocks. Hit the one on the right to get a Mushroom or Flower.

Go to the right and get the three coins from the tallest hill, then carefully cross the bridge on the right, dodging the Yurarin Boo and collecting the coins. There is another Yurarin Boo at the end. Jump to get the two coins and land on the platform just above the water. Then get on the moving platform, jump to hit the brick below the ? block, then hit the ? block to get a 1-UP Heart. To catch it, you have to jump into the area of coins, but you have to avoid hitting the brick that the Heart is on, or you will bounce it up and it will fall into the water.

After that, go to the right, get on the platform that's going up and down, then run and jump onto the Dropping Lifts and immediately jump to the upper door so you can do the Bonus Game. Then you will continue on to World 2-2.
