After you solve Captain Bell's mystery with help from Peter the Parrot, you reach the cave beneath Bellcola.

You can optionally go through the east wall (the shadow is at the southernmost part of the east wall) to get two double hearts. However, if you got the Big Heart under the church, you don't need them. Go back west through the wall if you did get them.
Go north to the next room.
Kill one of the orange bats to open the west door. Go through.
You can jump north to reveal another double heart, then jump south, and south again to reveal a third double heart. Take the double hearts if you wish, then go to the west side, but beware that the tiles will start disappearing behind you when you have reached the west half of the room, so quickly go to the west side of the room and jump north to reveal a switch, then immediately jump south until you can jump east and step on the switch. Then quickly jump back to the exit before all the tiles can disappear, and go west to the next room.
Walk west, and be prepared to jump over the spears that shoot out of the walls at you. Just jump as soon as you notice spears starting to shoot out, and you should jump over them without taking damage. Keep going west and be prepared to jump over more spears, then jump onto the tile. Then go west, jump when you're just before the narrow gap in the wall, then go west and jump on the switch. Then go west through the passageway that appeared.
Jump north onto the eastern tile to reveal a switch. Then you have to go west and use your weapon to hit the floating orb. It will start going back and forth. You need to jump over it whenever it's coming toward you. Go to the west side of the room and jump on the switch to reveal a passage to the west. Go through it.
In this room, all three doors will automatically open. You can optionally go south to find a Try-your-luck sign, which has a chance of giving or taking away some of your extra lives. Be aware that if you go that way, you have to defeat several Loopers and a Nocto to make the door open again. When you're done, go north to the previous room.
If you want a double heart that is difficult to get without taking damage because of spears shooting out of the walls, go through the west door. Carefully jump west to get a double heart, but be sure to jump over the spears that shoot out of the walls at you. Then jump onto the westernmost tile, then jump onto the switch. Go east to the previous room.
Now go through the north door. Kill the Rattus, then walk up against the north wall and go east to fall through a hidden hole. Avoid the wooden stakes that come up from the ground. They get closer and closer, but if you get out of their path, they can't hit you. Just make sure to avoid them again when they reappear. Go up the southeast stairs. Don't go to the north wall. Instead, go west through the shadow just south of the north wall. Then go west through the shadow to reach the next room.
Kill the Nocto bat to make a passage appear in the south wall. Go through it.
If you didn't get the double heart in this room earlier, you will have to backtrack to reach the room with the cross-shaped water. If you already got the double heart or don't want it, go west to the next room.
Some of the tiles in this room will disappear, in a spiral pattern. After the spiral has disappeared, the remaining tiles will also disappear, so you should carefully jump south until you are up against the south wall, then jump west. At the west side of the room, jump onto the southernmost tile along the west wall. This makes a switch appear. Step on it and go through the west door.
Run south into one of the gaps. This will keep you safe from the bowling ball. You can hit the bowling ball to stop it temporarily. When the bowling ball goes west, run west, but be prepared to hide in one of the gaps before the bowling ball comes back, or hit the bowling ball to give yourself more time to hide. Keep making your way west until you can go south and jump onto the tile. Then go east and get the Mirror that appeared. Then go west and jump on the north tile to make a switch appear. Step on the switch and go through the west door.
Pirate Ghouls will appear in this room. You can ignore them, because killing the Looper snake will make a passage appear in the west wall. If you want to get rid of the Ghouls, use the mirror to reflect their orbs at them, just like you did with the Magicians earlier in the game. Then go through the west passage.
Hit the nearby cannonball and jump over it whenever it is about to hit you. Get the Rod of Sight from the middle of the room, then hit the cannonball on the left, and jump over both cannonballs as you make your way to the west side of the room. Go north and jump on the tile, then go south and jump on the switch. This opens a passageway to the west. Go through.
Go to the north side of the room and jump south onto the island, then jump onto the western tiles, and jump onto the north one if you aren't on it already. Get the Baseball Bat that appears. Then jump north or south to get off of the island, and go back through the east passage to the previous room.
If you don't need double hearts, skip to the next paragraph. If you need double hearts, go east and hit the cannonball, jumping over it as needed to avoid getting hit, then go north and hit the cannonball there and jump over it as needed. At the door, jump onto the west tile, then jump onto the switch that appeared. Then go north through the door. Immediately jump north so you won't be on the disappearing tile. Jump on the switch, then jump onto the westernmost tile, then the easternmost tile, to make double hearts appear. Go south and carefully get them, then go through the south passage to return to the previous room.
Go south and hit the cannonball, jump as needed, then go south and hit the cannonball there, and jump as needed. At the southern door, jump onto the west tile, then jump onto the switch, then go south through the door.
Kill the Loopers, and kill or ignore the Nocto, to open the south door. Go through.
Kill the Dodo birds, then go through the west passage.
Go north and jump on the tile, then avoid the bowling ball while going to the west side of the room. Remember that you can hit the bowling ball to temporarily stop it from moving. Jump on the switch at the west side of the room, then go through the west passage.
Jump on the tile, jump on the switch, then go through the north door.
Kill or ignore the Noctos, then jump north to go to the next room.
Beware of the Minotaurs in this room. You can ignore them, but try not to let them hit you, because they deal high damage. And remember that you aren't safe from them if you jump onto a tile. Use the Rod of Sight by pressing START to pause the game, then press down on the directional pad and select the Rod of Sight. Kill the Minie ghost in the southwest part of the room, then go through the west passage.
Go west and hit the cannonballs, and jump over them as you make your way to the west side of the room. Jump on the north tile, then jump on the switch, then go through the west door.
Beware of wooden spikes that come up from the floor here. Get out of their way whenever they appear. They can appear on tiles, not just on grass. Jump onto the rightmost tile, then the middle tile, then jump on the switch, get the double hearts, then go west through the door.
Go west and take the double hearts, then go west (you will need to keep moving to avoid the wooden stakes) and try to jump over the spears that shoot out of the walls at you. Try jumping as soon as you notice the spears coming out of the walls. Jump onto the disappearing tile, then go west and jump on the tiles to open the west door. Go through.
Dodge the bowling ball, get the double hearts if you wish, then go west. You can hit the bowling ball to temporarily pause it. At the west side of the room, jump on both the north tile and the south tile. Then go east and get the Mirror, and go south and step on the switch, then go west through the door.
You need to kill all the enemies in this room to open the door. Use the Mirror in this room to knock the orbs back at the Pirate Ghouls. Then kill the Loopers on the left side of the room to make the north door open. Go through.
There is a large gear wheel in this room. Stand in front of the door that you came in through, and go east through the wall. Then go north until you can't go farther north, then go west through the wall. Jump onto the tile three times to open the floodgate. There will be a cutscene with a long musical interlude. Afterward, you will automatically board Sub-C and go north through the strait. Then you will begin Chapter 6: Reunion.
