You can move on to a new area, where a tragedy took the life of the Lord, and investigate the mysterious sightings there.
Reach Third Star Rank
If you haven't yet already, you need to reach Third Star Rank before you will be allowed into the Cobalt Coastlands. Complete research tasks in your Pokédex, catch and battle wild pokémon, and talk to Professor Laventon to receive points, then talk to Cyllene when you have earned enough points to rank up. Close the Pokédex when it displays on the screen, and you will reach Third Star Rank. You will now be able to use Great Balls, and pokémon up to level 40 will obey you. You will get the recipe for crafting Great Balls.
Meet with Lian
The next time you go to the Front Gate of Jubilife Village, Lian will meet you. You will get 2 Grit Pebbles and 3 Grit Gravel.
When you're ready, talk to Ress and go to Beachside Camp in the Cobalt Coastlands.
Speak with Irida
Go to the guidance marker and approach Irida. You will battle her level 30 Glaceon and level 15 Eevee.
Irida will heal your pokémon after.
Go to Veilstone Cape
Go northeast from Beachside Camp until you see a ramp to the left that you can go up. From there, go east along the cape until you reach the destination. Approach Palina and there will be a cutscene.
Go to Iscan
Go back to Beachside Camp and go southeast. At your destination, you will encounter Volo. Afterward, go to the building up ahead. You can wait at Iscan's place until night, when Duskclops will appear.
Catch a Duskclops
At night, go to Deadwood Haunt and catch a Duskclops. Afterward, go back to Iscan and show him the Duskclops. You will get a ball of Basculegion Food.
Summon Basculegion
Meet Iscan on the beach, and you will learn to summon Basculegion. You will also get the Splash Plate. You can summon Basculegion if you are in the water by pressing + or A. A Basculegion symbol will appear on screen, replacing the symbol of Wyrdeer or Ursaluna, if you are in deep enough water to summon Basculegion.
Ride Basculegion to Firespit Island
At Firespit Island, approach the guidance marker and there will be a cutscene. Make your way around the volcano and approach the sisters, and there will be a cutscene.
You will fight Clover's level 35 Abombasnow.
Afterward, you will fight Coin's level 34 Toxicroak.
After that, you will fight Charm's level 34 Rhydon and level 35 Gengar.
Afterward, there will be a cutscene. You can now teleport directly here to the Molten Arena, so feel free to go to a base camp to prepare first, then come back when you are ready.
Quell Arcanine's Frenzy
Early in the battle, Arcanine will dash forward after its eyes flash. Press Y to dodge out of the way. Avoid being too close to Arcanine when it is preparing to dash. You can't fall into the lava, but you can only walk on the stone, so make sure that you position yourself so that you will have room to dodge. Arcanine can dash over the lava, so keep this in mind when deciding which direction you should go when dodging.
Arcanine will sometimes create five orbs above its head and charge up a powerful attack. Throw balms as quickly as you can at Arcanine during this time, to reduce the number of orbs above its head. If you don't remove all of the orbs before Arcanine finishes charging up its attack, it will cause an explosion that can't be dodged.
Arcanine will eventually create a swirl of fire in the middle of the area that stays there for a while, so avoid that area.
After the battle, you get the Flame Plate.
Report to Commander Kamado
Talk to Professor Laventon at a Base Camp to return to Jubilife Village. Enter Galaxy Hall, and go up the stairs until you reach Commander Kamado. There will be a cutscene.
The next mission, Scaling Perilous Heights, will begin.
