A list of all 50 secret seashells that can be found in the Nintendo Switch version of Link's Awakening.

Collecting Seashells

In the Nintendo Switch version of Link's Awakening, there are 50 Secret Seashells hidden around Koholint Island. After you get the Power Bracelet, you can go to the Seashell Mansion. If you have 40 or more Secret Seashells and you go to the Seashell Mansion, you will get the L2 Sword, which is stronger than the L1 Sword and can shoot sword beams when you are at full health.

Go north of the Trendy Game in Mabe Village. Cut the bush that is four columns to the right and four rows from the bottom to find a Secret Seashell.

Requirements: 20 rupees

At the Trendy Game, you can get this Secret Seashell after you win the Yoshi Doll, the Ciao Ciao Doll, and the Piece of Heart.

Requirements: Shovel (200 rupees)

After you have 200 rupees, you can buy the Shovel from the Mabe Village Shop. Use it in the bottom-right corner of the doghouse in Mabe Village to find a Secret Seashell.

After you have 200 rupees, you can buy the Shovel from the Mabe Village Shop. Go to the beach and keep going east from Sale the crocodile's hut until you see two boulders to the east. Go south from there and dig in the southwest part of the sand, west of the log and palm tree.

After you have 200 rupees, you can buy the Shovel from the Mabe Village Shop. Go to the Mysterious Forest and go south from the log that is blocked by three boulders. You find a circle of blue flowers. Dig in the middle of that circle to find this seashell.

After you have 200 rupees, you can buy the Shovel from the Mabe Village Shop. Go to the Mysterious Forest and go to the northwest part of the forest. Dig in the recessed area in the west wall to find this seashell.

After you get the Roc's Feather from Tail Cave, you can reach Dampé's Shack. Go south from the shack to reach the Tabahl Wasteland. Go to the northeast corner and dig in the dirt that doesn't have grass on it to find this shell.

North of the northwest part of the Mysterious Forest, you find Mr. Write's house. Go east from there and you will see a phone booth. Go north from that phone booth, cut the southernmost bush, and dig where the bush was.

After you get the Power Bracelet from Bottle Grotto, go east and you find a sign that has stones around it. Pick up the easternmost stone to find a shell.

Enter the Mysterious Woods from Mabe Village, then go east to find a rock. Pick it up and open the chest beyond where the rock was, and you get a shell.

After you get bombs, go back into Tail Cave (the first dungeon), and go north, then east, then use the north door (the one with the person shape in it). Then go west until you can't go farther west, and use a bomb at the broken wall to create an opening. Go through and open the chest to get a shell.

Go to the beach and go east until you find three rocks blocking your path. Pick them up and go east to the house by the bay. Go inside and pick up the pots to find a shell. (If it's not there, come back after you complete Angler's Tunnel and help the ghost.)

Go to the witch's hut, then go west. Pick up the rock and climb down the ladder. Cut the bush, then dig where it was to find a shell.

There is a giant stone skull to the east of the Ukuku Praire warp location. Use a bomb to blow it up. There are some small rocks where the skull was. Dig between those rocks to get a shell.

Just east of Seashell Mansion, there are some bushes. Cut the bushes to find a shell.

Southwest of seashell mansion, there is a small maze-like area bordered by rocks that each have a round shape on top. There is also a regular boulder inside the wall of rocks. Pick up the boulder to find a shell.

In the southwest part of the rock maze (see Seashell #16), there is a cave opening in the wall. Go into the cave, and go to the west wall. Bomb the broken part of the wall and go through the hole. Make your way through the cave and go outside. Go north to find an owl statue. Dig in the spot just southwest of the owl statue to find a shell.

South of the rock maze (see Seashell #16), there is a lake. Go to the south side of the lake and cut the bushes to find a shell.

When you agree to find Richard's five golden leaves, he opens a secret passage under his house. In the secret passage, go up the left fork in the path to find a chest. Open it to get a shell.

On top of Key Cavern, dig in the middle of the four patches of grass to find this shell.

Go just east of Mabe Village and go south to find a phone house. Use the Pegasus Boots to dash into the tree next to the phone house, and a shell will come out.

Go south of Mabe Village toward the first dungeon, Tail Cave. West of Tail Cave, dash into the tree to find a shell.

Go south from the library in Mabe Village, and when you reach the sand, dash into the southeast palm tree to find a shell.

Complete the third dungeon, Key Cavern, then complete Dampé's "Fill Up Your Hearts" challenge to get this shell.

Go southwest from Animal Village and go clockwise around the lake until you find a bridge. Go across the bridge and go north to find an owl statue. Dig to the left of the owl statue to find a shell.

In the eastern part of Tal Tal Heights, there is a warp spot, and east of that, there is a hole in a raised platform. Throw a bomb into that hole to get a shell.

After you deliver Christine's letter to Mr. Write, go back and talk to Christine to get this shell.

Go to the spot where you played the Ballad of the Wind Fish to make the walrus get out of the way. Stand at the south edge, facing the water, and play the Ballad of the Wind fish again to get this shell.

Go to the northeast part of Yarna Desert and walk south from the owl statue, and dig at the dead end with the cactus walls, to find a shell.

Go to the east part of Yarna Desert to find a walkway on top of the east wall. Walk south on this walkway, and pick up the boulders at the end to find a shell.

If you go to the Tal Tal Heights warp location, you can go south down a ladder into the moat around Kanalet Castle. Go west in the moat and you find a waterfall. Dive underwater at the spot where the waterfall is pouring, and you find a shell.

East of Key Cavern, there is a small lake. One of the island in the lake has a bush on it. Cut the bush to find a shell.

After you complete Level 4 - Angler's Tunnel, go to Trendy Game in Mabe Village. One of the prizes is a secret seashell.

Southwest of the lake at Martha's Bay, south of the phone house, there is an island with a bush on it. Swim to the island and cut the bush to find a shell.

From the warp spot at Dampé's Hut, you can go north to the part of the mountains where there is a cave entrance blocked by three boulders. Go into that cave entrance, dash through all the bouncy crystals, and exit the cave. Then go east until you reach an area of deeper water. Swim to where the small waterfall is pouring into the water, and dive down to find a shell.

Near the waterfall where you got the previous seashell (see above), there is a ladder. Go up it, then go west until you can north up another ladder. Go east and cross the bridge, then throw the two rocks (and a third rock that has a Spiny Beetle hiding under it) to find a shell.

From the previous shell, go west until you reach the house in the mountains, and go west onto the small piece of bridge. Throw a bomb south into the hole down below, and you will get a shell.

In the mountains, go to the waterfall that had a shell at the bottom (it has three waterfalls south of it). Go east from there and enter the cave. Go to the north wall and use a bomb on the broken part of the wall. Go through and go up the stairs. Push the northernmost boulder to the left, then go south from the chest to reach another boulder. Push it south. Then go south and exit the cave. Open the chest to get a shell.

Use the west exit of Animal Village, then go north until you can't go farther north. Go east to a rock maze. In the northeast corner of the maze, there is a rock by itself. Pick it up to find a shell.

From the previous shell, go south into the Southern Shrine area. There is a building to the west. East of that building, there is a group of Armos. Make the southeast Armos move, then shoot it with an arrow or hit it with the Boomerang to get rid of it. It was standing on stairs. Go down those stairs and open the chest to get a shell.

Requirements: Magnifying Lens

After you get the Hookshot, you can complete the trading sequence. You will get the Magnifying Lens. Go to Animal Village and go into the northeast house to find a Zora. Talk to it to get a shell.

Catch a Cheep Cheep in the Mabe Village fishing game to get this shell. Make sure not to push any buttons when the Cheep Cheep flies out of the water, or you will be likely to lose it.

Catch a Blooper in the Mabe Village fishing game to get this shell. Make sure not to push any buttons when the Blooper flies out of the water, or tries to swim away, or you will be likely to lose it.

Requirements: Hookshot

To reach the western Tal Tal mountains (if you haven't already), go to the Eagle's Tower entrance, jump off the right side of the ledge, then go east and into the cave. Follow the path, and when you're outside, go to the house in the mountains. From there, you can use the Hookshot to cross the bridge. Go west and cut the bush (if any), then go down the stairs. In the cave, go west and go down the stairs there. Use the hookshot to go across the gap in the next area, then go outside. Make your way up the ladders where the rocks are falling. At the top, you find an area with boulders and Moldorms. Pick up the northeasternmost boulder to find a shell.

Go east from the Tal Tal Heights warp spot, and use the Hookshot to cross the stream. Go into the house and talk to the person, and choose Rapids Raid. Go outside and get on the raft, and go west. Go down either of the two waterfalls. Use the Hookshot on vines and trees to pull yourself up to the northeast corner of the area so that you are up against the east side of the area and you get pushed southward along the east side. When the water starts pushing you west, use the Hookshot to pull yourself to the vines in front of the small island. Go onto the island and dig in the northeast corner to get this shell.

Go east from the Tal Tal Heights warp spot, and use the Hookshot to cross the stream. Go into the house and talk to the person, and choose Rapids Race. Finish the race in under 35 seconds to win a Secret Seashell. You can use the Hookshot during the race to pull yourself along the course more quickly.

Go to the south end of the bridge to Kanalet Castle. Go west from there and you will find a row of holes north of the trees. Go up to the edge of the eastern hole and you can use the Hookshot to go across. Go down the stairs on the other side. Open the chest to get a shell.

In the Face Shrine dungeon, go to the northwest room of the dungeon. (You will need to go east from the room with the two elephant statues and use the crystal there to make the columns go down.) In the northwest room of the dungeon, go up the stairs and you will end up outside in the Rapids Ride area. Open the chest to get a shell.

Requirements: Powerful Bracelet

In the Eagle's Tower dungeon, go to the southwest room on 2F. You will have to fight a Hinox in this room (if you haven't already defeated it). Afterward, fall into one of the holes on the left side of the room. Then go north along the ledge and open the chest to get a shell. If you have already completed this dungeon, one way to get there is to use the warp spot in the dungeon entrance, go north and make sure that the crystal is blue, then go south to where the warp spot is, then west from the warp spot room, then south, and go down the stairs. (If the stairs are blocked, go back to the room north of the warp spot and hit the crystal.) From there, keep going west and you will reach the room where you defeated the Hinox. Fall into one of the holes on the left side of the room. Then go north along the ledge and open the chest to get a shell.

To get this shell, you can warp to the Western Tal Tal Mountains warp spot (in front of Spectacle Rock) if you have registered it. Go slightly west from Spectacle Rock, then go south to the corner, and you find some pebbles on the ground that make a + shape. Dig in the middle to find this shell.
