After the guards let you into Saffron City, you go to the Silph Company's Head Office to stop Team Rocket's hostile takeover.

Meet Your Rival

When you try to walk farther into the Silph Co. lobby, there will be a cutscene.

After the cutscene, talk to Blue when you're ready. Blue has a level 38 Exeggutor and a level 40 Charizard. You get 11200 Pokédollars for winning.

Afterward, go southeast and look between the fountains to find an X Sp. Atk.

Then go to the northeast corner of the lobby, where there is an elevator and some stairs.

The Quick Way

You don't have to explore the whole building and fight all the trainers, but if you want to, go to Silph Co. 2F on this page for the full walkthrough. (Note: If you skip the trainer battles here, you won't be able to battle them anymore after you complete the area.) If you do want to take a shortcut, then use the elevator to go to 5F, then go west and there will be a cutscene. You and your rival will team up to fight a double battle against Team Rocket Admin Archer and a Team Rocket Grunt. They have a level 34 Muk, a level 37 Electrode, a level 37 Golbat, a level 34 Raticate, a level 37 Weezing. Your rival sends out a level 36 Cubone, followed by a level 37 Raichu, followed by a level 36 Pidgeot. You get 4652 Pokédollars for winning. After the battle, you get the Card Key. If you want to skip all the trainer battles in this building, follow the instructions under "Step on the Correct Teleporter" on this page.

Silph Co. 2F

Go southeast into the hallway, then go west and you will battle a Team Rocket Grunt who has a level 33 Raticate. You get 924 Pokédollars for winning.

To the left, you can battle a Team Rocket Grunt who has three level 33 Koffings. You get 924 Pokédollars for winning.

Southwest of the Grunt, check on the water cooler to get a Fresh Water.

Go west to find a Super Potion.

Go east into the side room and you will battle Scientist Jerry, who has a level 35 Electabuzz. You get 2100 Pokédollars for winning.

Go south to find an X Attack.

You can't do anything else on this floor at the moment, so just go up to 3F for now.

Silph Co. 3F

Go west and check on the middle plant at the end of the hallway to find a hidden set of 3 Silver Razz Berries.

Then go east, then south when you can. Go east into the room and look in the corner to find an X Sp. Def.

Then go south and you will battle a Team Rocket Grunt who has a level 33 Haunter. You get 924 Pokédollars for winning.

You can't do anything else on this floor yet. Go up to 4F.

Silph Co. 4F

Go east, then south into the room. Here you can battle a Team Rocket Grunt who has a level 33 Koffing and a level 33 Electrode. You get 924 Pokédollars for winning.

Go south to find a Dire Hit.

Then go north to the hallway, then west, then south. The path leads west. Partway down this hallway, you can battle a Team Rocket Grunt who has a level 33 Rattata and a level 33 Grimer. You get 924 Pokédollars for winning.

Go north into the room and check the water cooler to get a Fresh Water.

You can't do anything else on this floor, so go up to 5F.

Silph Co. 5F

Between the elevator and the stairs, you can battle Juggler Dalton, who has a level 34 Hypno, a level 34 Haunter, and a level 34 Kadabra. You get 1360 Pokédollars and 3 Poké Balls for winning.

Check the plants to the left of the elevator to find a hidden set of 3 Silver Nanab Berries.

Go east and talk to the Grunt in the narrow passageway. This Team Rocket Grunt has a level 33 Zubat and a level 33 Arbok. You get 924 Pokédollars for winning.

Now go west, and walk past the teleporter. There will be a cutscene. Afterward, you and your rival will team up to fight a double battle against Team Rocket Admin Archer and a Team Rocket Grunt. They have a level 34 Muk, a level 37 Electrode, a level 37 Golbat, a level 34 Raticate, a level 37 Weezing. Your rival sends out a level 36 Cubone, followed by a level 37 Raichu, followed by a level 36 Pidgeot. You get 4652 Pokédollars for winning. After the battle, you get the Card Key.

Now that you have the Card Key, go east and then south into the conference room, then go west and check on the locked door to open it with the Card Key. Go into the room to find a Guard Spec.

Go back to where you battled Archer and the Grunt, and unlock the door to the left. In this room, you can battle Scientist Beau, who has a level 35 Muk. You get 2100 Pokédollars for winning.

To the left of the Scientist, there is a Max Ether.

Go east, then south, and you will battle a Team Rocket Grunt who has a level 33 Ekans and a level 33 Hypno. You get 924 Pokédollars for winning.

Go south and open the locked door. You will find TM54 Flash Cannon on the floor, and a set of 5 Poké Balls on the shelf.

Go east to leave this room, then go east along the narrow hallway. At the end, go north up the narrow passageway to find a Nugget.

Now that you have the Card Key, you can go back to the previous floors to unlock the doors there. Go back to the elevator and go down to 2F.

Silph Co. 2F, part 2

Go east, then south, then west. Unlock the north door and talk to the woman to get TM42 Self-Destruct.

Go south and unlock the door. In this room, you can battle Scientist Connor, who has a level 35 Weezing. You get 2100 Pokédollars for winning.

Now go up to 3F.

Silph Co. 3F, part 2

Go south, then unlock the door to the left. In this room, you can battle Scientist Jose, who has a level 35 Grimer and a level 35 Magmar. You get 2100 Pokédollars for winning.

North of the Scientist, there is a Max Lure.

Now go up to 4F.

Silph Co. 4F, part 2

Go all the way south, then go west. When the path splits, go north, then unlock the door there. In this room, you can battle Scientist Rodney, who has two level 35 Voltorbs and a level 35 Electrode. You get 2100 Pokédollars for winning.

Go all the way south, then west, and unlock the door. The item on the left is a Full Heal, the item on the right is an Escape Rope, and the item at the top is a Star Piece. Go north to find a set of 5 Great Balls on the left shelf and a Revive on the right shelf.

Now go up to 6F.

Silph Co. 6F

Go into the conference room that is south of the stairs. Go to the upper-left corner of the room to find an X Sp. Atk.

Go north from the conference room, then go east, then south down the hallway. You will find a PP Up.

Check the plant in the southeast corner to find a hidden set of 3 Silver Pinap Berries.

Go west and you will battle a Team Rocket Grunt who has a level 33 Raticate and a level 33 Golbat. You get 924 Pokédollars for winning.

Go west and unlock the door. The item in the lower part of the room is a Hyper Potion and the item in the upper part of the room is a Max Repel.

Go east to leave this room, then go north and check behind the plant to get a Super Potion.

North of that, you can battle Scientist Taylor, who has two level 35 Magnemites and a level 35 Magmar. You get 2100 Pokédollars for winning.

Go north, then west, and check on the water cooler to get a Fresh Water.

Go east and you will battle a Team Rocket Grunt who has a level 33 Meowth and a level 33 Raticate. You get 924 Pokédollars for winning.

Go up to 7F.

Go west and you will battle a Team Rocket Grunt who has a level 33 Zubat and a level 33 Golbat. You get 924 Pokédollars for winning.

Go southwest from that Grunt and unlock the door. Speak to the man on the right to get a Lapras.

Southwest of the man who gave you Lapras, there is a Rare Candy.

Go north, then east, then south down the hallway. Check the southernmost plant to find a hidden set of 3 Nanab Berries.

Go south from there, then west. In this area, you can battle Scientist Joshua, who has a level 35 Koffing and a level 35 Magneton. You get 2100 Pokédollars for winning.

North of the Scientist, there is a PP Up.

Go back to the area with the stairs, and unlock the door south of the stairs. In this room, you can battle a Team Rocket Grunt who has three level 33 Voltorbs. You get 924 Pokédollars for winning.

Southeast of the Grunt, you find TM34 Dragon Pulse.

Go south and unlock the door. There is a set of 3 Smart Candies in the southeast corner.

Go up to 8F.

Silph Co. 8F

To the left of the stairs, you can battle a Team Rocket Grunt who has a level 33 Grimer and a level 33 Koffing. You get 924 Pokédollars for winning.

To the left of the Grunt, go south down the hallway, then east, and check on the plant in the corner to find a hidden set of 3 Silver Razz Berries.

Go north into the nearby room and check behind the upper plant to get an X Attack.

Leave that room and go west, then go north into the small room. You will battle a Team Rocket Grunt who has a level 33 Gastly and a level 33 Persian. You get 924 Pokédollars for winning.

Go northwest from there and unlock the door. In this room, you can battle Scientist Parker, who has a level 35 Electrode and a level 35 Porygon. You get 2100 Pokédollars for winning.

Northwest of the Scientist, there is a Revive.

Go up to 9F.

Silph Co. 9F

Go east as far as you can go, past the locked door, then go south as far as you can go, then west. Go up to the shelf to find a set of 3 Ultra Balls.

Go west from there to battle Scientist Ed, who has a level 35 Weezing, a level 35 Electrode, and a level 35 Electabuzz. You get 2100 Pokédollars for winning.

Go west and check the shelf to find a set of 3 Great Balls.

Go south to find a set of 3 Poké Balls.

Go north and unlock the two locked doors, then go west, then south. You will battle a Team Rocket Grunt who has a level 33 Persian. You get 924 Pokédollars for winning.

Unlock the door near the Grunt, then go west to find a Revive between the beds.

Go north and check in front of the painting to find a hidden Elixir.

Talk to the nurse to heal your pokémon.

Go to the left and unlock the door, then go north and you can battle a Team Rocket Grunt who has a level 33 Koffing and a level 33 Haunter. You get 924 Pokédollars for winning.

Go up to 10F.

Silph Co. 10F

Southwest of the elevator, there is a Full Heal.

Go south and you will battle a Team Rocket Grunt who has a level 33 Voltorb and a level 33 Raticate. You get 924 Pokédollars for winning.

On the east side of this room, there is a Max Revive. To the south, there is a Rare Candy. On the west side, you find TM37 Flamethrower.

Go north toward the elevator, then go east, then south into the room. Here you can battle Scientist Travis, who has a level 35 Grimer and a level 35 Muk. You get 2100 Pokédollars for winning.

Check the cardboard box to the left of the Scientist to find a hidden X Accuracy.

Go up to 11F.

Silph Co. 11F

Go east and you will battle a Team Rocket Grunt who has a level 33 Drowzee, a level 33 Zubat, and a level 33 Golbat. You get 924 Pokédollars for winning.

Go south from there to find a Max Elixir.

The Team Rocket Boss is on this floor, but there is no way to get into that room from where you are. The only way is to use the teleporters throughout the building. You can try to find the correct one yourself, or you can read the next section for more information.

Step on the Correct Teleporter

Click the button below to find out which teleporter to use to go to the final battle in the building.

After you step on the correct teleporter, there will be a cutscene. Step on the lower teleporter to continue.

Go south from there and you will have a double battle against Jessie and James. They have a level 36 Weezing and a level 36 Arbok. You get 3456 Pokédollars for winning.

Go south and unlock the door, then go north into the office. There will be a cutscene. Afterward, you battle Team Rocket Boss Giovanni, who has a level 39 Persian, a level 39 Rhyhorn, and a level 39 Nidoqueen. You get 6240 Pokédollars for winning.

After the battle, talk to the Silph Co. president to receive a Master Ball. This is a very rare item, so don't use it unless you are trying to catch a very rare pokémon.

Afterward, go back the way you came and step on the teleporter, then step on the teleporter in the next room. Then go east, then north, and go down to 1F.

When you leave the building, there will be a cutscene.

Talk to the guy next to the Saffron City Pokémon Center to get a Porygon.

You could go to Saffron City Gym now, but you will need to have at least one level 45 pokémon in your party. If you don't have one yet, it is recommended to go to Fuchsia City. You can either go to Route 12 or Route 16 to get there. The path from Route 16 to Fuchsia City is shorter than the path from Route 12.
