About Meltan and Melmetal

Meltan and Melmetal are legendary pokémon that were announced in September 2018. They became available with the release of Pokémon Let's Go Eevee and Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu on November 16, 2018.

How to Get Meltan

First, transfer at least one pokémon from Pokémon GO to Pokémon Let's Go using the GO Park in Fuchsia City. After the transfer, you will get a Mystery Box in Pokémon GO.

If you will be walking around outside for a while, open the Mystery Box in Pokémon GO to start a 30 minute timer. While the timer counts down, walk around outside while playing Pokémon GO. You can encounter Meltan in the wild while the Mystery Box counts down. You can catch multiple Meltan during this time.

Meltan can be transferred to Pokémon Let's Go the same way you transferred a pokémon to get a Mystery Box.

How to Get Melmetal

Meltan can only be evolved into Melmetal in Pokémon GO. You will need 400 Meltan candies to evolve Meltan into Melmetal. To get more Meltan candies, you can transfer more Meltan to Pokémon Let's Go, or you can make Meltan your buddy in Pokémon GO and walk around, or you can send Meltan to the professor in Pokémon GO, or you can catch more Meltan to get more.

After you evolve Meltan into Melmetal, you can send Melmetal to Pokémon Let's Go using the GO Park in Fuchsia City.
