Did Delta Mind Hack All the Decisions in the Game?
Uchikoshi (creator of the Zero Escape series) leaves it up to the player's interpretation as to whether the characters in the game made their own decisions, or if it was Delta mind hacking them, or if it was "?" from Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward who was making the decisions.
What Happened to Kyle from Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward?
There is an extra ending for Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward called "Another Time", where it is said that Kyle will go to 2028 to help the participants of Dcom. However, Kyle does not appear in Zero Time Dilemma. Uchikoshi (creator of the Zero Escape series) explained in a series of tweets that the Another Time ending is not canon and was created after the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake, to provide a more hopeful ending. Furthermore, the Another Time ending is meant to refer to the real world, so Uchikoshi intends to have Kyle appear in the real world in 2028.
Why did Delta shoot Gab?
Fans have expressed confusion about Delta's decision to kill Gab, the dog, prior to the explosion in the Final Decision fragment. According to Uchikoshi (creator of the Zero Escape series), there are three reasons: Delta knew that Gab would die of old age soon, and Delta knew that Gab would die in the explosion if Delta did not shoot him, and finally, because Delta could sense that some of the participants (those with kind hearts) would find themselves unable to SHIFT if it meant leaving Gab to die in the explosion.
