After you become Champion, Team Rainbow Rocket appears in the Alola region, and it's your job to kick them out.

Team Rainbow Rocket in Aether Paradise

After you have become Champion and you have caught the Ultra Beasts in Poni Grove, Episode RR will begin. The next time you go to Aether Paradise, go into the main building and go toward the back to find Lillie and Ms. Wicke. They say that Lusamine's mansion has been taken over by Team Rainbow Rocket, and they ask you to help. Wicke gives you a Big Malasada.

Go through the door behind Wicke and approach Lillie. Then go north and you will battle a Team Rainbow Rocket Grunt who has a level 61 Primeape. You get 1952 Pokédollars for winning.

Go farther north and you will battle a Team Rainbow Rocket Grunt who has a level 61 Alolan Persian. You get 1952 Pokédollars for winning.

Go farther north and you will battle a Team Rainbow Rocket Grunt who has a level 61 Haunter. You get 1952 Pokédollars for winning.

Go farther north and you will battle a Team Rainbow Rocket Grunt who has a level 61 Golbat. You get 1952 Pokédollars for winning.

Then go north and there will be a cutscene. Afterward, you will have a double battle against Aether Branch Chief Faba and an Aether Foundation Employee. They have a level 61 Granbull, a level 63 Claydol, a level 61 Shiinotic, a level 63 Hypno, a level 61 Scrafty, and a level 63 Bruxish. Lillie has a level 60 Clefairy. Then go north and enter the mansion, now known as Team Rocket's Castle. Go to the back room and there will be a cutscene. Afterward, go back to the previous room and there will be a cutscene.

Then you have a double battle with two Team Rainbow Rocket Grunts. They have a level 62 Fearow and a level 62 non-Alolan Raticate. Pokémon Trainer Guzma sends out a level 64 Golisopod. You get 3968 Pokédollars for winning.

Afterward, Lillie heals your pokémon. She will go to the back room and she will heal your pokémon whenever you talk to her.

Team Rocket's Castle, 1F, West Wing

If you go through the door on the left and step on the warp panel, a gang of Grunts is waiting. You battle a Team Rainbow Rocket Grunt who has a level 62 Tentacruel. You get 1984 Pokédollars for winning.

Step on the northwest warp panel and you can battle a Team Rainbow Rocket Grunt who has a level 62 Arbok. You get 1984 Pokédollars for winning.

Step on the panel to the left of the Grunt. In this room you can battle a Team Rainbow Rocket Grunt who has a level 62 Primeape. You get 1984 Pokédollars for winning.

If you check on the pokéball in the corner, it is actually an Electrode. You can catch or KO it, but it knows Explosion, which will instantly KO it, so try throwing a Quick Ball on the first turn if you have one. If your active Pokémon has the Damp ability, Electrode's Explosion will fail. The Psyduck evolution line and Poliwag evolution line can have this ability.

Step on the northern warp panel. In this empty room, step on the south panel. In the next room, you can battle a Team Rainbow Rocket Grunt who has a level 62 Hypno. You get 1984 Pokédollars for winning.

In the middle of the room, there is an Iron Ball.

Step on the bottom-right warp panel. If you want to return to the lobby, go east. Otherwise, step on the warp panel to return to the room where the gang attacked you, then step on the bottom-left warp panel to go to a new room.

A wall of grunts is blocking some warp panels. If you step on the upper-left panel, you reach a dead end where you can battle a Team Rainbow Rocket Grunt who has a level 62 Tentacruel. Step on the bottom-left warp panel and you will go to the middle of the room. From here, step on the north panel.

Go south, then when you are warped to the right side of the room, step on the bottom-left warp panel again to return to the middle panel. Then step on the southern warp panel and you will be sent to the left side of the room.

Step on the bottom-right panel. In this room you can battle a Team Rainbow Rocket Grunt who has a level 62 non-Alolan Persian. You get 1984 Pokédollars for winning.

Step on the bottom-right panel. The item in here is another Electrode that you can battle and optionally catch.

Get the Rare Candy from the corner of the room, then step on the upper-left panel.

Get the Max Potion from the corner of the room, then step on the north panel. In this room, step on the north panel to return to the room with grunts blocking the way.

Step on the north warp panel and you can battle a Team Rainbow Rocket Grunt who has a level 62 Hypno and a level 62 Primeape. You get 1984 Pokédollars for winning. In the corner of the room, there is a Revive. Step on the warp panel to return to the room with four warp panels.

Step on the west warp panel to reach a hall. There is a Full Restore in the corner. Approach the grunts in the north end of the room and they will battle you. The first one has a level 62 Haunter. You get 1984 Pokédollars for winning. The second grunt has a level 62 Hypno. You get 1984 Pokédollars for winning.

Afterward, you can go into the room behind the grunts to battle Team Aqua Archie. He has a level 64 Mightyena, a level 64 Crobat, a level 64 non-Alolan Muk, a level 64 Sharpedo, and a level 66 Kyogre. You get 18480 Pokédollars for winning.

After the battle, check on the painting and push the switch. Step on the warp panel to return to the lobby.

Team Rocket's Castle, 1F, East Wing

In the room east of the lobby, step on the warp panel. In the next room you can battle a Team Rainbow Rocket Grunt who has a level 62 Golbat. You get 1984 Pokédollars for winning.

Then press the button in the middle and memorize the sequence of floor panels lighting up. Then step on the panels in the same order that they lit up. If you did it correctly, the warp panel on the right will be activated. Step on it.

In the southeast of this room, you find a Full Heal. The grunt here won't battle you, but he will distract you while you are trying to solve the puzzle. When you solve the puzzle, the warp panel on the right will be activated. Step on it.

Go back to the previous room, and after solving the floor puzzle, use the north warp panel to reach a hall. There is a Full Restore in the corner. Afterward, you can go into the room behind the grunts to battle Team Magma Maxie. He has a level 64 Mightyena, a level 64 Weezing, a level 64 Camerupt, a level 64 Crobat, and a level 66 Groudon. You get 18480 Pokédollars for winning.

After the battle, check on the painting and push the switch. Step on the warp panel to return to the lobby.

After you defeat Maxie and Archie, there is a cutscene in the lobby. A grunt reveals that you have to go upstairs, find the card key, and activate the switch in order to open the mirror in the bedroom.

Team Rocket's Castle, 2F, East Wing

Go up the east stairs. The Grunt in this room has a level 62 non-Alolan Muk. You get 1984 Pokédollars for winning.

Step on the warp panel to go to the next room. The Grunt in this room has a level 62 non-Alolan Persian. You get 1984 Pokédollars for winning.

If you walk in front of a Meowth statue's eyes, you will be sent back to the entrance of the room. To get past the Meowth statues here, press the button on the back of the Meowth on the left, then press the button on the back of the Meowth on the right. Then you can go to the northeast corner of the room to get a Calcium. Then step on the warp panel to go to the next room.

In this room, the Grunt has a level 62 Arbok.

To get past the Meowth statues here, press the button on the back of the southernmost Meowth statue. Then rotate the Meowth that is south of the northern warp panel. Then rotate the one to the right. Then rotate the southern one again, then go around the left side of the one that you just rotated. From there, go to the right and rotate the rightmost statue. Then rotate the one that is south of the warp panel. Then rotate the northwest statue, and go around the back of the one that you just rotated. Then walk behind the two statues near the warp panel, and finally go to the northeast corner and get the PP Up. Then walk behind the two statues near the warp panel, and rotate the one that is south of the warp panel. Then you can go north and step on that panel.

Rotate the bottom-left statue. Then walk behind it and go to the southeast corner of the room and rotate the statue there. Walk behind it and then rotate the upper-right statue. Then walk behind the statues to go to the northwest corner of the room and get the Cell Battery that is there. Then walk behind the statues, and rotate the one that is south of the warp panel. Then go to the right and rotate the upper-right statue. Then go around the backs of the statues to step on the warp panel in the north part of the room.

You have reached a room that leads to a boss. Get the Max Revive in the corner, then approach the door. First you have to battle the Grunt on the right, who has a level 62 non-Alolan Muk and a level 62 Fearow. The Grunt on the left has a level 62 Tentacruel.

Go through the door and approach the person there. He says that you must press one of the two buttons. In spite of what he says, the outcome is the same no matter which one you press. You battle Team Flare Lysandre. He has a level 65 Mienshao, a level 65 Honchkrow, a level 65 Pyroar, a level 65 Gyarados that he mega-evolves into Mega Gyarados, and a level 67 Xerneas. You get 18760 Pokédollars for winning.

After the battle, press the other button, then step on the warp panel that appears.

Team Rocket's Castle, 2F, West Wing

Go back to the lobby and go up the west stairs. The Grunt in this room has a level 62 Fearow.

Step on the warp panel to go to the next room.

There are one-way arrows in this room. If you step on one, you will move in that direction until you either hit an obstacle or touch another arrow. In the northeast corner of the room, the Grunt has a level 62 Haunter. After you defeat the grunt, step on the lower of the two left arrows. When you stop, go south as far as you can go, then step on the down arrow that is to your right. Then take the Revive that is in the middle of the room. Then go to the left and step on the up arrow. Then you can step on the warp panel up above.

Go north and step on the arrow that is pointing to the right. When you stop, you can go to the northeast corner of the room, where the Grunt has a level 62 non-Alolan Raticate.

To the left of the Grunt, there is a Zinc.

Next, step on the left arrow that is just below the northern warp panel. When you stop, step on the arrow near the upper-left corner that is pointing up. Then you can step on the northern warp panel.

In the next room, go to the right, and step on the uppermost right arrow. Then step on the upper arrow above you. Then step on the up arrow that is to your left. You will warp to the next room, but first, go back to the previous room and go to the left to get the HP Up.

Then step on the warp panel again to go to the next room.

There is a Hyper Potion to the left. Go north and approach the two Grunts. The one on the right has a level 62 Hypno. The one on the left has a level 62 Arbok and a level 62 Golbat.

After the grunts walk out of the way, go through the door and approach the person there. You must battle Team Galactic Cyrus. He has a level 65 Houndoom, a level 65 Weavile, a level 65 Honchkrow, a level 65 Crobat, and a level 67 Dialga. You get 18760 Pokédollars for winning.

Afterward, you get the Galactic Key. After the battle, use the Galactic Key on the panel on the wall behind the desk.

Past the Mirror

After you have defeated Lysandre and Cyrus, and pressed both buttons and used the Galactic Key in the panel in Cyrus's room, go back to the first room of the mansion and go back to the bedroom. Lillie will heal your pokémon. After that, go to the warp panel that was behind the mirror. After a cutscene, a battle begins.

Team Plasma Ghetsis has a level 66 Cofagrigus, a level 66 Bouffalant, a level 66 Bisharp, a level 66 Hydreigon, and a level 68 Zekrom. You get 19040 Pokédollars for winning.

After the cutscene, talk to Lillie to heal your pokémon. Then go north and step on the warp panel.

During the cutscene, say No when you are asked a question.

Then you must battle Team Rainbow Rocket Giovanni. He has a level 68 non-Alolan Dugtrio, a level 68 Rhyperior, a level 68 Nidoqueen, a level 68 Nidoking, and a level 70 Mewtwo, which Giovanni mega-evolves into Mega Mewtwo X. You get 22400 Pokédollars for winning.

After the battle, you get 55 Big Nuggets during the cutscene.
