After getting the access key to the tall tree on Myst, you find the linking book to Channelwood Age.

Start the Water

Where you arrive on Channelwood Age, you will be on a wooden walkway over the water, with pipes running along the top. From where you start, turn around and go forward. Continue in this direction and go to the windmill that you see in the distance.

Inside the windmill building, turn the faucet on the floor to start water flowing from the windmill.

Raise the Bridge

Then go back to the wooden walkways. Go along the walkways until you find a valve in the pipes. Make sure that the red valve is covering up the yellow dotted line that points to the spiral staircase that you can see in the distance on the right.

From there, go to the left (take the path that doesn't lead to the spiral staircase). The water should be flowing through the pipe that you are walking over. At the next junction, make sure that the valve is covering up the yellow dotted line that points to the right.

Then go left, walking over the pipes that the water should now be flowing through. You will reach another junction, and to the left you will see a broken walkway. Make sure the valve here is covering up the yellow dotted line that points to the broken walkway.

From there, go to the right, and then go to the left, where you see a machine at the end of the walkway. If you changed the valves correctly, the water should be flowing through the pipes to the machine. Go to the machine and pull the lever on it to make a bridge come up from the water. Cross the bridge and follow the path.

Turn the Crank

Eventually you reach an elevator on the left. Go to the right and follow the path, and you will see a crank at the end of the pipe. Turn the crank to extend the pipe to the other side.

Power the Elevator

Go back the way you came, cross the bridge, then go to the right when the path splits. Go past the valve next to the broken walkway, then at the next valve, change it. Then go to the left, where the water should now be flowing in the pipe, until you reach another valve. Change it so the water flows to the right, then go to the right and change this valve so it goes to the elevator on the right. Go into that elevator and close the door and pull the lever to go up.

Open the Stairs

Go straight ahead and you will find a wooden structure. The path to the left leads to a dead end, so go to the right, through a rectangular building, then you find another rectangular building. Inside this building, go to the right, and follow the path to the round building at the end, where you find a lever. Pull it, and you will see a door open in the distance.

Power the Second Elevator

Go back the way you came, then in the rectangular building, turn right, then go straight. In the round building, go to the right, go straight through the rectangular building, then continue following the path. You will find an elevator that doesn't work, and a door that lets you go down the spiral staircase. Go down the spiral staircase.

Go straight ahead on the walkway until you reach the first valve (the one that is nearest to the windmill). Change the valve so the water is flowing to the spiral staircase. It will power the elevator at the top of the stairs, so go up the stairs and get into the elevator and close the door and go up.

Get the Red and Blue Pages

From the elevator, you can follow the path to the right. You will see a metal door. You can open it and go inside to see a recording from Achenar. You can go through the door behind where you saw the recording to go through the back of the building. From there, go left, and enter the wooden building.

There is a device in the corner with four buttons, and the blue page is on the floor nearby. You can press all four buttons on the device to see different recordings. The fourth button shows a recording from Sirrus.

To get the red page, go back toward the elevator that brought you up to this level, but instead of going into it, go to the right instead, and follow the path to the building at the end. Open the drawer of the desk that has inkwells and a quill on top to find the red page.

Also, in the bed, there are two drawers. Open the right-hand drawer to find a ripped piece of paper. You may wish to make a note of what it says.

Return to Myst Island

Now go back down the elevator. Go back down the spiral staircase, then go to the nearest valve and switch it so the water is no longer flowing to the elevator that you just came from. Then, go along the walkway (using the path that does not go to the spiral staircase or the windmill), and follow the path to the next valve. Make sure the water is flowing to the right, then go to the right, and make sure the water is flowing to the right from here as well. Go to the right, and this time make sure the water is flowing to the left. Then turn around, go straight, then right, then straight, then left, then right, so that you can go across the bridge that you raised earlier. From there, follow the path to the third elevator, which should now have water flowing to it.

Go into the elevator, close the door, then pull the lever to go up. Inside the room, you will find a Myst linking book. Use it to return to Myst Island, where you can put the red or blue page into its respective book. You can return to Channelwood if you wish, to get the other page for the other book.
