How to Reach the Shrine

About the Shrine

This is a combat training shrine. The skills that you learn in this shrine are very important, so pay close attention, and be sure to practice these techniques on other monsters that you encounter. You can read about the techniques if you press + and go to the Controls screen, then choose Ability Controls.

There are two chests near the entrance of the shrine that contain a Shield of the Mind's Eye and an Eightfold Blade.

Go forward until a Guardian appears. This is a combat training shrine. Go toward the guardian and hold ZL to target it. Then when it swings its weapon, do a side hop as instructed. If you did it correctly, you can do a Flurry Rush attack. Afterward, approach the guardian again, and when it swings its weapon, do a backflip as instructed. If you did it correctly, you can do another Flurry Rush. Next, raise your shield and target the guardian, then press A (not Y) when it swings its weapon. You have to press A just before the weapon hits. If you did it correctly, you will parry the attack. Next, hold Y to charge up your weapon, then hit the guardian with it.

Afterward, pick up the Guardian Sword that the guardian dropped. This weapon has very low durability, so try saving it for later.

Be sure to open the two chests near where you entered the shrine. They contain a Shield of the Mind's Eye and an Eightfold Blade.

Then go toward Ta'loh Naeg and open the chest there to get an Opal. Finally, check on Ta'loh Naeg to get a Spirit Orb.
